Elite Dangerous | Powerplay 2.0 Questions and Answers

One of my true disappointments (of what we have been shown- it may change on launch) is this issue of art. Its a shame FD don't 3D Power leaders as then they can (like BGS avatars do) smile, frown etc.
Weren't they just represented by colours before picture people were added? Do i remember that correctly? Twas so long ago.

Flimley

To be met with security at the spaceport ?
The translation took away all the meaning :(
Meet the king and his entourage inside the spaceport.

Seconded.

They could've released a dozen comics about the Powers. It would show more of the lore, locations, cultures and universe.

I'm not sure about comics but certainly there was immense scope for lore and a powers ethos to be woven more into the game. Some Powers and engineers did feature in some books though. Patty, ALD, Zach, Aisling, Bill Turner, Martuuk were all in with the Club (Drews book Premonition) and others.

Since that lore branch got chucked out, I'd just settle for more in game references, like big holo heads and propaganda.

Comics can visualize the characters and locations. Show detailed artwork of the capital cities of the 3 superpowers. Where do they live? What do the streets look like in Capitol, Olympus Village, Garden City. How about Aisling's Imperial Palace on Emerald. People who care about the lore want to see these locations.

I'm not against it, I just think that the horse has bolted on that one. That, and really the main characters of ED have always been its ships- reading some of the ED books its like product placement sometimes.

The ships would of course be in the comics as well. ED has a dedicated fanbase and lots of regular sci-fi fans would check it out. A live-action series based on the Elite universe could be great too.

{whispered in your ear}
Sir, I don't mean to worry you unnecessarily but that mission that you botched recently was authorized by the king himself, and he doesn't seem to be happy with you. I think he brought a few of his favorite swords with him. If you don't mind, I'll just wait over here a few yards away.

Sorry for being lazy:

Can't find the question or answer on the topic of reworking some (weaker/lame) PP reward modules (but I remember seeing it asked somewhere). Was there any word on this from the devs, on any of the channels (stream, site, forum etc.)?

From the Q&A
Will Powerplay modules be rebalanced?
Not for the launch of Powerplay, this is something the team is going to continue to monitor but for launch they will remain unchanged.

I suspect their thinking is that if all powers hand out all modules it doesn't really matter if some of them aren't all that useful compared with the others.

I agree with them, it doesn't matter, everyone gets all of them if they do enough work for the power. And, as they have said nothing one way or the other, new powers could also bring new modules with them.

Well this update seemed to me like a good opportunity to squeeze in some module improvements / build options. I don't own PP modules, but I've read over the years of some which are really hated, like for example the mining lance, which is considered one of the worse laser mining option out there... What is the point of having obsolete rewards, even if all powers will now offer them?
