wonderfulAs far as I can tell, merits are still suspended for rares trades. Assignments for rares trades complete and you get the merits for doing the assignment, but no merits for the trade itself.

The 'suitable income' and 'would have taken months' bits were certainly true, but luckily merits are literally flowing since the update, so it's definitely not gonna take months now, that's all.
...that makes me puking.I feel like Type-10 AFK Builds are gona dominate the Merit Scene
Already earned 4 ranks from Haz Res in my Corvette, lol...that makes me puking.
Regarding the origins of the notion 'meritocracy', is this any surprise at all?I feel like Type-10 AFK Builds are gona dominate the Merit Scene
I'm sure they'll change it in the next couple days so may as well enjoy it while you can, lolRegarding the origins of the notion 'meritocracy', is this any surprise at all?
Apparently delivering escape pods for a weekly task is also disabled. I recovered more than needed from the system targeted, turned them into that systems power contact, and zero progress.Hi folks,
I can confirm that Settlement Data Delivery should now be re-enabled. Rare Goods and Escape Pods continue to remain temporarily disabled for Powerplay as we investigate.
Nice. How long did that take? I do enjoy bounty hunting in Haz Res from time to time.Already earned 4 ranks from Haz Res in my Corvette, lol
What type of system were you working on? Salvage of wreckage components and black boxes doesn't work in Acquisition systems, only Reinforcement/Undermining.Also, why is ALL salvage disabled (and not mentioned, if intentional)? I recovered other things besides the escape pods, turned them into the PP contact and... no merits.
(Edit: Removed since someone already responded with the correct information) Though I'll add, know multiple cmdrs that have completed pod weeklies and are actively still doing S&R with pods just set to ignore and are earning merits.Apparently delivering escape pods for a weekly task is also disabled. I have received a decent amount of merits from downloading data from Odyssey settlements, recovering the PP items (they are actually there now), and uploading malware. But not at the levels where I would want to do it much. Also, once again, it pays to target anarchy factions. Get the merits, hurt/help the system your in, and you get no bounties nor hurt your rep with the faction. I mention this not because I want you to change this for anarchy but to loosen the restrictions on all the other settlements so they become viable targets.
Based on what others are posting, it looks like bounty hunting is a viable option now. I'll try that. I really wasn't looking forward to mining, which is the only thing that was granting 8-10k merits an hour before the changes on Thursday. Have no idea if it got boosted too or not.
No, it's not:Apparently delivering escape pods for a weekly task is also disabled.
Ok, then it's just like the advert missions... they're sometimes targeting systems that aren't eligible. I rescued 13 escape pods, and 5 damaged pods in the Gadnik (or something like that system) for the task there that required 12. I had zero progress even after 2 rounds of turn-ins.No, it's not:

Not to long, couple hours at best. Each scan nets 14, then you get anywhere from 20 to 320 depending on each target you kill. I myself found a Haz Res in one of my power plays ruled systems. You might be able to earn a lot if you use a Type-10 AFK farm, just most likely won't get the 14 from scanning.Nice. How long did that take? I do enjoy bounty hunting in Haz Res from time to time.
Good to know. I don't plan on AFK farming, just regular bounty hunting. Not to long, couple hours at best. Each scan nets 14, then you get anywhere from 20 to 320 depending on each target you kill. The AFK farm... I don't get why. I built a turreted Type-10 for sure, so when I get tired of trying to pick off swarming NPCs one by one I can just drift through them casually in a death cloud, but why would I fake playing a video game to go do something else? The illogic is baffling. I'm faking work right now to talk about the game I can't play until I can get home and play it. That's the natural order of things. Besides, the rebuy cost on a fully engineered battle boat is too much overhead for an operation like that. If a guy wants to buy merits, there are donation missions. Plus, all those wasted mats from blown up NPCs just drifting until they despawn--there's no satisfaction in that. It's like those kids who put in more effort devising a way to cheat the test than it would take to pass it honestly only to bypass the benefit of having learned something. I'm going to bypass the gameplay to get the merit so I can unlock the module, so I can bypass outflying the opponent to win the fight, so I can say I'm the best at a game I haven't actually played much and never enjoyed to people who don't believe me and/or don't care. Must be city folk. Not to long, couple hours at best. Each scan nets 14, then you get anywhere from 20 to 320 depending on each target you kill. Point of an AFK build is to do it while your AFK, get yourself a Corvette to actually blast around in while not AFK. Merit farming is more of a grind and less of a gameplay, people work in real life. Why should they "work" in a video game? lolThe AFK farm... I don't get why. Turreted T10? Heck yes! To fly...for fun...
