As a lifetime PC player of ED for sometime I am pleased to see the game finally arrive for the PS4. My PC became under powered to play so I've not played for about 12months, I switched to a PS4 and then to a PS4 Pro which has satisfied my gaming wants since with games such as The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn etc, etc.
Unfortunately my Lifetime pass is not transferable which I kinda expected so a new start will be required.
I was a little disappointed with this statement from FD Q&A.
Will this require PlayStation®Plus membership to play?
Solo Play will not require PlayStation®Plus. Anything that requires direct multi-player interaction, such as Open Play, CQC, Private Groups will require PlayStation®Plus
I can play War Thunder online with no PlayStation®Plus membership to play. So why would it be necessary for ED? One can only presume that some deal has been made with Sony.
Any way interesting times ahead I like many will be waiting to see what the final outcome is. One thing for sure after being sadly let down by previous game pre-orders I will be watching to see how this one goes before taking the plunge as here in Australia we have to buy using either US$. pounds or euros which after the conversion rate push the price up.

As is this as it has been asked and answered on more than one occasion. Your Cmdr name is your PSN username.
Well not all of the 400 billion star systems actually have space stations. Also you need a ship capable to reach some of the out of the way destinations
if you don't want to use your current PSN username then you can create an alt account and use that as long as your main account has PSN+, i did it with destiny my old account had PSN+ and my new account didn't yet i still had access to all multi-player features of destiny, that was 3-4 months ago so don't know if this has changed

so, will devs take this feature? it could be usefull for galaxy navigation , chatting , ship managment etc.

Ahh sorry just re-read and realised second screen is a separate thing. Interesting, I would like this but I don't think it will become a thing.

i ve read the pre order information on ps store, it does have remote play on vita, but not sure about the second screen. would be cool for vita players to use the vita screen for the scanners, but as always not sure if this would be in or not.

I played the original and haven't played since. I don't even remember if I had an account, I just remember playing the game for many hours.
Would I have had an account to be able to play the game and if so is there any way to transport that username/account to the ps4 version when it arrives?

simple question, but does anyone know which 3rd party sites will support ps4 accounts and which won't? i have signed up for a couple but most need xb1/pc accounts to let register, which is a bit of a drag

Inara.cz is a site where lots of people register their groups. At the moment you can only choose between PC and Xbox platforms. It's run by one guy (I think!) called Artie. At least he's answering all the queries on the noticeboard there.
basically inara is a 3rd party website for elite dangerous , but monkey will probably explain what it better me
