Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Beta Details & Feedback

thus far is there anyone who successfully build a ground outpost that sells CMM?

Not sure who told it was "fixed" but at least they ( FDev ) are aware & acknowledged it here--> https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...on-beta-details-feedback.634055/post-10570937

Well, call me crazy but i believe the term "Open BETA" means we, the umm "customer$" , are meant to assist with testing. ( on a larger more comprehensive scale than small QA Team could do )'
Im not sure testing that when you place "Thing X" on the map and fullfill requirements that "Thing X" actually appears instead of "Thing A" is what you give to the customers to find out in "beta". I completely agree with the previous poster that this would be basic functionality testing, not some corner-case that nobody knew to anticipate with full deployment.

Any system name?

Just... I wouldn't be surprised if the Large Industrial Settlement is just a red herring... Refineries make CMMs, not Industrial... if they have a Refinery hub... likely throwing down the second surface settlement was enough to make the hub swing the economy. Also interested to see the physical locations of these things.

i totally hear ya and hey i'm def. not trying to say or imply that 'FDev' has like the best most consistant amazing communication skills ( or track record ) . They clearly have a routine & mandate whereby they purposefully keep the actual Coders far far away from the community writ-large. That's one way to go, for sure. And tbqh, devs rarely make gamers ( certainly not vocal-minority ) "happy" regardless of which tact they take.

But i guess for me, since i've been on "their side" ( aka QA'ing and rudimentary Coding/Bug-fixing , on another MMO ) myself in the past , i sorta can understand maybe slightly better ( sympathy ) for even the most "obvious" basic type bugs/issues/mistakes sometimes getting thru onto LIVE server.
Again, were we told "open BETA" on page 1 , so from personal experience i just wasn't expecting much in the form of smoothness. However, i def. agree with u guys that things around here would certainly be better served if they communicated more often on these forums first.

*And it would appear perhaps @Paul_Crowther agrees--> https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...on-beta-details-feedback.634055/post-10571810

You can just plop one down right? No prereqs? Unlike the ones that have corresponding settlements
Yes and no. You have the prerequisite of a Tier2 point. That's all from what I know.

I have an Orbis, an orbital scientific outpost, a comms installation and a relay installation. That was enough for building a Refinery Hub.
There are also no prerequisites listed in the DaftMav spreadsheet.

Oh right, yeah, i meant like a specific facility.

I think it makes perfect sense for bigger ports to be special, rare and difficult to build. Also demanding a lot of infrastructure to build and sustain. Only systems with a big population, lots of settlements, installations etc should support multiple ports.
But these big ports/stations are needed to increase population (thus production rate of goods).

Maybe if FDev's financials is on par with CIG... we'd all love that, wouldn't we.
It isn't about the financials of it. It's about consistent communication with the player base. This thing is an open beta. There should be at least one person from their team, not just a Mod, in these threads passing info from us to them and from them to us. I haven't seen anything even close to that. It was no different for the Gnosis and the Odyssey debacles. I read they had learned from their mistakes because of those incidents. That's the only reason I ported over from Xbox and started playing again. But it looks to me like they're still lagging far behind. We NEED meaningful communication from them.

I think, instead of limiting amount of big stations/ports by increasing construction points requirements, FDev should add an option to UPGRADE existing stations/ports.
This upgrade should give us additional amount of population, development level, tech level, etc
If this additional amount will be higher, compared to what new station yields - architectors will definitely prefear to upgrade, instead of putting new installations. Ah, and if these upgrades will give us construction points - then FDEv may keep existing cost increase. We'll have enough those points, gained from upgrades.
I'd prefear those upgrades be modular, i.e. we can choose between different types of upgrade - one will increase population, another will increase tech level, etc.

Wow, ok still silencing the truth I see. SMDH. Do better FDev.

Perhaps try a post without talking about people being banned, or staff being fired (which was an incorrect assumption of a bad situation btw).

I didn't assume anything, but I'm not arguing. You are here for this, but where is the communication about the update and everything else being discussed here?

Mate, you need to relax. I agree that having meaningful feedback is a must for any developing game, but getting upset and targeting people/staff will not get you anywhere.
I do agree that it would be beneficial for both parties if there were clearer communication between the players and the Devs, personally i dunno what the stance is on that, but the direction you're going in, i do not agree with it
