Elite Dangerous | Trailblazers Update 3 | Now Live!

Are you in the system? Colonization megaships don't show up in the system map and were shown under the category "Poins of interest" so be sure you don't have that one filtered out.
I did it only shows two inactive system colonisation ships and one active but I'm not about to check it out.

It seems absolutely reasonable to me that two stations in the same system would interact. I'm really struggling to see how that could be unreasonable to anyone.
From my perspective, it is when you consider that NPC systems’ stations do not cannibalize their own imports/exports in certain types of systems because one is refinery and there is also an agricultural port present, unless they clearly have a shared economy visible. EG there might be an agricultural Orbis at planet 3 of the system but it doesn’t have refinery eating its production even though there are hubs and large (orbital) refinery stations elsewhere in it. And/or some installations of a given (non-agriculture) economy type.

Now I’d be fine with some small industrial exports at your starport if there’s nowhere else for the stuff to go but not for that same industrial weak influence to then eat into refinery imports. This might be mostly fine for the mass-produced stuff but tends to not work so well for ones with lower quantity, eg liquid oxygen and insulating membranes.

Considering how the system operates elsewhere(read - pre-colonization systems), I don’t think it unreasonable to have some things existing “in the background” while leaving the production we set a market up for intact. Not have military and whatever eating it up automatically while hardly providing anything in return. Players are not the sole entity which exist in the ED space as a ‘universe’ after all…

Having said that… mandatory, arbitrary (in the sense that they are completely, oppressively strong) planetary influences are a far bigger mess than some weak links. You can probably live with a small amount of miltary from a couple settlements and security stations scattered about, without them ruining your plan. But you can’t with your high metal content world suddenly destroying your production because it creates an extreme industrial pressure simply due to volcanic activity present, ignoring the fact you built 4-6 refinery hubs already*. This is also a problem for rocky bodies which boost refinery but have volcanism more than infrequently too.

*Said refineries will also end up completely destroying the extraction exports provided by high metal contents, but I’d say that’s more of a… unimportant casualty to most players if they were building a refinery anyway.

@Phil W

I a system I was undermining recently:

Prior to patch killing a PP guard was 44 merits
After the patch killing a PP gaurd was 29 merits with 5% reported 'bonus'.

This is a strange way to implement a bonus. That seems like.... like exactly a 35% reduction actually.

I am glad because of changes, but...

There is problem with economy. Whole day I had a lot of metals in my Coriolis... and now just like thatn everything changed and I can see only. Still I can see only Refinery/Extraction economy in system menu and 3 stron linkgs: Agri, Refinery and Extraction.

You likely are orbiting an icy or rocky icy body and this brings in Industrial economy. Industrial has a high demand for many metals...especially the important ones used for colonization. This does not show as a link but just effects the market directly.

its not raising the difficulty floor but rather increasing its ceiling.
In certain cases there’s an argument to be made for lowering the difficulty floor: why should a lawful mission runner ever be interdicted in a high security in boom, their cops should be on the case.
I'd love it if my power sent me messages going "great work, but watch your back! Grom / Patty / Power is after you now!"
would be cool yep, and would make PP seem more alive.

I know about planet ovverride and influence. But things changes even when I didn't build anything... Every changes I mentioned are from the last 24 hrs... so I can't predict anything. That's the problem.

What are you on about now? It's easy peasy to collect data for reinforcement, though not all types nor the power goods from chests count.
You can't for reinforcement, if you don't want to destroy the reputation of your home system. Just get the merits immediately for power data, takes anyway up to 2 hours before it's visible. That's why fdev got rid of the power kill vouchers, that this dropping of control points is not performed

Are the Trailblazer Ships disbanded or moved?? The "Wish" is no longer in Bletii !!

Don't jump into the system with a Carrier, because then the Trailblazers won't appear. At least that's how it was for me. Go in with a Carrier, no Trail Ship, send the Carrier back to the Home system, and vioila - the Trail ship is back.

What kind of balance Patch is this? It doesn't balance anything. The adjusted values are only merits not control points. So the reinforcement malus is only to discourage randoms? Besides there have been other activities been removed/changed/weakened that make no sense. Killing npcs is worse, why? Did you guys think UM happens via ground kills?

I would assume since no mention was made of adjusting the divisor in the conversion of Merits-to-Control Score, that it still remains in effect; a divisor of 4 for most activities.

Prior to the update, earning 100,000 Merits performing some type of reinforcement activity would have netted +25,000 Control Score for those actions where the divisor of 4 holds sway.

Post update, performing the exact same reinforcement activity and in the same quantity, but suffering the new -35% penalty, now only earns 65,000 Merits. This converts into +16,250 Control Score.

Will have to test to confirm, though.

EDIT: In subsequent testing it's become apparent it's playing out as Agrippa stated; this change only affects personal Merits earned, NOT Control Score. Therefore, it will do nothing to change the current reinforcement-heavy dynamic of Powerplay, invalidating FDev's claim of wanting to encourage and reward offensive actions.

May we please have the ability to reject links. As long as multiple economies on one station result in crippled economies with nothing of value for sale. We need the ability to discard market influence. They demand the goods from both economies and only sell the sliver of goods remaining. The markets are a lost cause but I'd still like to build the systems for theme without being punished for it. With the way things work you're going to get very boring single economy systems because anything else and your system market is a write off. All pre patch or thematic systems will just have worthless markets. There's not nearly enough slots of correct the damage links currently do.

As long as markets are consuming each others' goods it would be really nice to have a way to tell stations not to adopt certain markets regardless of planet influence or facilities 100K ls away.

Along with many others, me and several friends have been locked out of the game by anomalous orange sidewinder errors. It should go without saying that this is a critical error as it entirely prevents you from using something you purchased. I have reached out to support twice and neither time did their solutions help or did I get a reply upon reporting back. The fact that fdev seemingly hasn't even acknowledged it beyond confirming the issue tracker report (https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/75285) is appalling.
