Thanks. I guess Im good to go then. Ive been away for a while and just recently started again with Odyssey. Wish I had all those upgrades already done. I fear that it might be a bit harder/more risky after tomorrow. Thankfully I can afford a lot of re-buys.

A new Thargoid ship will already be considered a massive update for Elite Dangerous. At this point anything is welcome.
Cause 1 SRV, FC concourse and 1 new Ground mission( all of which i really enjoyed) - that was the entire content update since Odyssey released 1.5 years ago, if i am not mistaken.

Is it the case that the player profile cloning will take place after server shutdown tomorrow? In the past we've been given a date when profile copies would be made; I don't remember seeing that for update 14. Also, will we be able to log into Live and Legacy on different PCs using the same account credentials? You can tell I'm a carrier owner who needs to move both Live and Legacy carriers back to the bubble after a long expedition (Passage to Andromeda) and I'd like to move them simultaneously.
I am excited about this one, and hope it is another stone set on a cosmic footpath toward Extra Vehicular Activity space walk missions to sneak into stations and derelict ships, and to landing on planets with atmospheres and flora and fauna 
We do know the Thargoids have a new ship.

I would be surprised if we dont see some ground combat with thargoids..... Note...... not bothered either way if i am right or not but would be nice to have SOME new feature, and that would be an obvious one which 3.8 could not support.... surely also quite easy to implemenrt (spoken as a non dev) but some new ground assets to pop into the random "stuff" generator on the ground and a couple of new animated character models to replace the human models and bob is your mothers brother.
No, most of the 4.8GB is for the Panther Clipper. It's a big ship.
Now now, we all know the Panther Clipper can store one million Type-10s in its cargo hold.Type-10*
