Elite Dangerous Update 14 Release Schedule

Mine was more dramatic ;)

and what also bugs me is not fix for the PWA.
which means mining will be broken for another 3+ months - assuming it will be acknowledged and fixed by U15 (slim chances considering it's broken since U12)

I am so relived that they FINALLY fixed the 1D shield cell banks having damage falloff instead of max ammo.
That right there was a game breaker for me. Now if they could only fix those darn broken lateral thrusters.

Can't wait! Eager to hand out some free hot cocoa for our insectoid neighbors and humans alike! P.S. Do the Thargoids like marshmallows?
Considering that they're ammonia-based, hot cocoa would probably just cause them to violently explode as their bodily fluids flash into a vapour.

Mind you I'm not saying that you shouldn't.

The x5 for previously undiscovered things ensures that there will never be a "road to riches" for exobiology
I'm not sure that's entirely true - there's so many previously scanned planets, the conditions for the higher-payout ones are fairly well known, and exobiology is slow enough per-planet that 18 months after release you can still get first discoveries of plants within the inhabited Colonia region. It wouldn't be the same road for everyone, but "pick a random star and give me all the candidates for expensive plants within 50 LY" should be a fairly easy thing for someone to build if they wanted to.

So as expected, but still very disappointing to see ALL frontiers' eggs put in one basket for the chosen few playing PC 4.0, which is of course now "live" mode - literally nothing for those of us shoved into the basement, I mean "legacy" mode, as we fall through the trap door!!

Seemingly no bug fixes or little trinkets to soften the blow, just "structural changes to allow for the transition to legacy mode"?!

I was hoping for something, ANYTHING new, that the Devs could have thrown together for us, in surely a few minutes, but no!!

Indeed some eagle eyed players noticed last week that you can mistakenly buy the Scorpion SRV on PS4 (buy surely not use it), at least at Jameson Memorial, though several of its' stats are wrong...

It'd be SOMETHING if we were actually getting it, but probably not, while as I said in other posts, is it not time to let everybody buy the Cobra mark IV yet?!

All in, I still hope when Frontier finally has Odyssey in a state that they're happy with, that they "return to console development" and release the "live" game in full on next gen consoles and adds everything they can to "last gen", but for now, NOTHING new for us!

Oh well, enjoy it in your ivory tower, "live" players, I hope ye don't get too lonely in the clouds!! 😯😂🩲😀🤘

what bugs me tho is lack of any mentions regarding lateral/vertical thruster fix

Indeed - quite a few signifcant and extrememly longstanding QoL issues I see missing on those patch notes. Thrusters is one, A bug involving navlock is another (massively importanant to us rats). One of the major Galaxy map settings retention issues (filters) MIGHT be fixed (the wording is unclear). Another significant galmap plotting issue (Fastest route/Eco route setting getting lost/not initialising) is not mentioned but might also cause plotting issues. One minor galmap bug (system connector enable setting retention is reported fixed). If I'm lucky My "logging in bug mitigation" procedure might be shortened a little by U14 but not by as much as it should have been.

I suspect I'll still be talking to fuel clients about working around galmap settings issues for the next few months :(

(Edited oi add... I might be wrong on the Galmap route mode retention issue. There is a bug reported fixed referring to hiding route lines. It's possible that the fix for that would touched code that initialised fastest/eco routing correctly. I hope it does. )

I still hope that Frontier might reconsider the macOS client, but what in ED's recent development history gives any indication that either of our hopes are likely to be fulfilled?

At the moment Frontier are on a minimal viable upgrade path with no sign of imminent change.

Like this (but never tried if it works): https://spansh.co.uk/exobiology

That said, coming back from a 5 months carrier journey up to Ishum's reach and back, with numerous new discoveries, I'm still Collector.

O7,
🙃

I am expecting Panther Clipper on-foot Thargoids and Space Thargoid Megaship!
Few new pew-pew-eapons and new misterious Thargoid and Guardian structures.
Otherwise - was it worth waiting? ;)

Oh yes forgot FSR.2 and TAA.
