General Energy bomb v2

No it wouldn't. Ganking exists in every game with mixed PvE and PvP elements, even if the game has dedicated PvP zones. You could also argue even in some pure PvP games, because ganking is a valid form of gameplay. If you can name me a game where it doesn't exist I'd be surprised.

But if you ignore all this superfluous stuff about how people play the game, which you should because this is not the place for it, then your actual idea is a weapon that has no drawbacks (especially if you're not carrying cargo), that allows you to escape any situation. So even if you're about to die because you've just been interdicted by two Glaives and you know there's no chance of escape, you can just click this button and be taken to instant safety.

Accidentally fall out of Supercruise into the Jet Cone of a Neutron Star? Well you don't have to worry about trying to navigate your way out, or dying a slow death, just click the button and be taken to instant safety.

No dangers? No collateral damage to your ship? No restrictions on usage?
It is not for nothing that I wrote at once and exactly we need to get rid of ganking ?
I've never played Fallout 76, but I've seen someone else play it. I asked him what about ganking? He did not understand me, and replied if someone comes running with a level much higher than him, he will just give him extra shmtoki and run away. When I told him how Elite is, he was surprised at how toxic our community is.
Even after destroying Titan and there people still manage to gank just to hurt others. I love Elite and I'm ashamed that ganking is considered normal gameplay here.

As for just saving, that's a good point and it's a real bad point.
I think the cost of a $10 million bomb would solve that problem. Then again the traveler won't be able to buy a second bomb.....

YAAARR-RP! is nice, at the same time general piracy needs more specific tools IMO. Think of the hatch scramble laser as a cyto- tuned for low level system disruption rather than damage. It might make piracy less scary and make piracy generally more fun in general PvE. You could have specific engineering for it- either as a flat experimental or maybe a G1-5 job where you trade damage and falloff / range for % hatch scramble.
Yeah, it has been advocated for long time... more tools like one to stop a disabled ship from drifting away (a sort of tractor beam).

But if it was available to all, then why would not a PvP CMDR in a losing fight not use it to prevent destruction?

Steve

In an equal PvP fight with engineered ships, you can easily hi-wake before you get killed if you're about to lose. Unfortunately it's really not necessary to have extra avoiding tactics.

FO76 have implemented a PvP flag, but just because your one friend thinks it doesn't happen doesn't make it true I'm afraid. Even in a game like EvE that has two different types of organised/arranged PvP and swift and harsh penalties to deter ganking, it still happens. Sometimes it has a purpose within the context of the game and others because some people are like that. But again there have been other discussions on Ganking if you want to discuss that.

I'm not sure the price of the module would make much difference to be honest. Though if it's a weapon that only have one ammunition, and that can't be restocked through a Fleet Carrier I guess it would limit the use in the deep space exploration case. It still just feels like a way to get out of and avoid any dangerous situation. And I don't personally think that is a good idea.

I'm a solo player, but I like the open game. Unfortunately Elite can't be flown alone in open game. Too many means against you, blocking FSD etc and a solo player is guaranteed to lose 100%, I've experienced this first hand.
That's why I prefer single player now and not out of the fact that I like it, I was forced to play it.

As for the chance of salvation, there was such a case many years ago. A man was traveling for a long time and accidentally crashed into a star. He grieved for a long time and was advised to contact support and the developers helped him.
This act is worthy of great praise, as the game should bring positive emotions and not curses.

OK, but that's an entire different discussion and one that there are already threads on. And the suggestion you've made is far too over the top in terms of all other gameplay aspects imo.

The Customer Service team though are indeed amazing 😊
