COMPLETED CG Enhanced AX Project: AX Multi-Cannon Gimballed

Maybe people were trying to drop them off when the servers were having one of their hiccups (aka the mission board "bug") so they just ejected them to free up the cargo space.
 
When did this happen? Just went to look at CG as I fancy these Gimballed EAXMC to try out ASAP to see difference from Turretted.
The CG target has just jumped to 20Million, it was def. 13M and progressing very slowly, now will take even longer and I would have preferred getting these before the hols.
@Flossy, other CG's were ALL 13M so what gives?

EDIT It would be a naughty way of ensuring these 2 CG's last until after 27th Dec-ish so you don't have to log on and release new CG's to replace these or just finish them!


Anyone gonna help with this CG for next 2 days due to most Invasion system targets completed?
Remember Invasion/Alert targets not achieving 100% get wiped Thursday, so maybe we could just ensure CG completed by the Thursday Tick?

APALA - Wilson City in Open mode was 'bombed' with about 60 escape pods inside the station. How that happened per a 14.01 update glitch or a griefer who knows. They float around sometimes blocking the mail slot causing NPC ships to stop entering and exiting. Then live players have to 'nudge' the NPC ships through the mail slot to clear the traffic. Solo mode resolves it but I was stubborn staying in Open mode. They are still there after several hours maybe even more but I'll push a ship out of the way for anyone.

Easily resolved. My Cutter carries a size 3 Operations controller 🤷‍♂️ . Picked up a bunch of limpets, cleared up the spill as far as it was reachable (got something like >20 damaged and ~5 regular pods), delivered them to the rescue contact at my Gallium source station. At least a little bit of cargo for the return trip, everything else even remotely lucrative was sold out.
As far as pushing other ships out of the way... I said "Cutter". As long as yoy stay below 100 m/s, all you get is a stern warning from the FC.

Sure will. Gaming in a few PM trainings tells you that you need to lay the foundations first, before tackling what looks to be the immediate problem. As it is, we (as humanity) can't win against the Thargoid invasion by repelling them in individual attacked systems. We'll need to find a way to carry the fight into the Maelstroms, and for that we'll need research.
Doesn't mean that the efforts of the CMDRs fighting and transporting in the attacked systems are wasted - at the very least, they keep the Thargoids off our backs and buy us the time we need to develop those new technologies.

Totally agree, I have really enjoyed the AX Combat with the EAXMC and then SC out and back in, when Interceptors appear, until my 24 Limpets are used up, then dock and do Evac and Wounded missions for a break and then can also swap to the CG - 3 different game plays ensure I don't burn out. Looking forward to progress over holiday period.

No this CG's target has always been 20M. Yes the others were 13M.

Nothing has changed in this CG, it was set higher right at the beginning with this quote from the original text:

Additional resources are requested to ensure that the new gimbal-mounting system can withstand the same combat usage as other enhanced AX weapons

Starting today's runs ~10 hrs ago the Tier according to Inara was around 50 percent. At the moment it is about 56 percent. That 20 mill is a pain versus 13 mil on the missiles. We're going to need more CMDRs. Checking the AX missile CG they are about 73 percent so maybe they will finish soon and come over.

There is a fleet carrier Andromeda Q4L-3HX locally at A 2 G (first right) providing Gallium at cost plus 200 credits. Once empty he goes back to fill up again at Struve 1321. Fly with him if you want to help load. It takes a little more time than jumping but I like it staying in the system and flying around with other CMDRs in Open mode. I like to see all the pretty ships and less boring.

No attacks for the week in Open mode that I ever saw. Maybe those wanting to attack players with the Thargoid war also wants the improved weapons. CGs like this are a great opportunity for players nervous about Open mode to try it out. If I'm around and someone is attacked in my instance I'll keep the bad guys occupied. If interdicted on the way well get your beating an interdiction skills down. Hint watch the radar then prepare as the slower you are when interdicted the easier it is to beat it even in a slow Type-9. I don't know why.

I just made the Top 10 CMDRs in the CG not like it matters but made me feel good knowing when players use enhanced AXI gimballed multi-cannons I with many others helped them to get them.

The worry...If we complete both CGs before the Thursday maintenance who at Frontier is going to install them for purchase on the rescue mega ships per Christmas vacations? It could be January as evidenced by players reporting that missions cannot be completed, one of the most basic core elements in playing this game, and Frontier will correct this in 2023 on their list of priorities.

A game appraching Christmas should be working at it's best to make the most sales. Oh well, back to seeing who will fly with me in Open mode.

Shipped a few loads from Andere last night since there was no war target in reach for me, pushed me into top 25%. Might try the fleet carrier today. Would be really sweet to finish this by tomorrow.

The ship is easier to maneuver when the speed gauge is in the blue area.
If you are in SC at max speed, upon interdiction you need to slow down enough to be in the blue zone, or you're fighting against your ship more than against the interdictor.
 
Well, after the Thursday weekly maintenance which I think is 0700 UTC it was a valiant effort
with lots of players in Open mode and more in Solo. However not even close and no cigar with
7,250,390 units still to be collected.

Quick math 200 Cutters hauling 720 T would take 50 trips each. Less for Type-9s hauling a little
more. I did 83 for the week with 59,760 units collected.

The 20 million Tier is going to take awhile longer. Alas a late Christmas present.

Also logging into Open mode at Wilson City I was presented with a station full of escape pods.
Logout to the main menu and back to Open and they went away. Add it to the list of update 14
issues.

Meanwhile the Christmas cosmetics make me smile and I went with a non-threatening paint job
for the Holidays!

As I see it, there is little to motivate me. I am not interested in fighting thargoids, so I do not want the weapons. If I wanted credits, I would possibly take the passenger/injured missions. So what does the CG offer me? Nothing to motivate me. I have delivered several thousand tons for each CG apart from one. I might do a couple of runs if I get bored with the other stuff. Where are the rewards to suit non fighters?
