  1. Cape genet: Less known, yet pretty common in zoos.
  2. Masked palm civet: Various different subspecies are in zoo collections.
  3. Owston's banded palm civet: What can I say, I love civets.
  4. Azara's agouti: Most common agouti in EAZA zoos.

  7. White-tailed mongoose: Very unique looking species.
  8. Pallas's cat: The game's lacking in the department of small cats.
  9. Striped polecat: Has a unique name, the zorilla.
  10. Northern yellow-throated marten: A formidable predator of the north, that hunts in pairs or packs. Prey includes small deer!
  11. European mink: Critically endangered.
  12. Kinkajou: Cute looking small zoo favourite.
  13. Northern olingo: Not very well known.
  14. Ring-tailed cat: Another small predator. Not actually a cat.
  15. Platypus: Very iconic, yet not common in zoos, at least outside of Australia.
  16. Quokka: Has taken the internet by the storm, also very unique for a zoo game.
  17. White-nosed coati: No zoo is complete without coatimundis!
  18. Tailless tenrec: Largest of the tenrecs.
  19. Southern three-banded armadillo: Most common armadillo in EAZA zoos.
  20. Large hairy armadillo: Another common zoo armadillo.
  21. Seba's short-tailed bat: One of the most common bats in EAZA zoo collections.
  22. Egyptian fruit bat: If I am not mistaken, the most common of all fruit bats in EAZA zoo collections.
  23. Lyle's flying fox: A large yet common flying fox in zoos.
  24. Silky anteater: I find these guys very cute and unique.
  25. Javan chevrotain: One of the smallest ungulates in the world.

  23. Hyrax (any)
  24. Titi monkey
  25. Talapoin monkey (any)
I'm afraid some of the small mammals I want are more sort of, vague gestures in the direction of a group of animals rather than pinning down an individual species, but I do feel that there are a lot of underrepresented groups out there! So here we go, in no particular order
  1. Tenrec (any sp. but I'm partial to the Lowland streaked tenrec for its vibrant yellow stripes)
  2. Hedgehog (any sp. but the European Hedgehog might be nice for expanding that geographical region)
  3. Mole rat (naked or otherwise! Not sure how feasible an animal that spends the majority of time underground would be but they're fun little creatures)
  4. Golden lion tamarin, (but any callitrichid monkey would be fun)
  5. Any Lorisid (loris, potto, or angwantibo)
  6. Agouti (any sp.)
  7. Platypus
  8. Yellow mongoose (they'd get a species enrichment bonus with the meerkats)
  9. Quokka (not 100% sure if they meet the weight requirements here, but if they do I'd like to see 'em!)
  10. Any small mustelid (weasels/stoats/polecats/martens etc)
  11. Spiny mouse (any sp.)
  12. Sand cat
  13. Bats (any sp.)
  14. Indian giant squirrel (or any other arboreal squirrel species)
  15. Solenodon (any sp.)
  16. Quoll (any sp.)
  17. Sugar glider
  18. Andean porcupine (or any other small tree porcupine)
  19. Armadillo (any sp. that matches the size requirements here, but especially the Southern three-banded)
  20. Lesser mouse-deer
  21. Any applicable Leporid (there's definitely some small ones in there, though my favourite species would probably be the brown hare, which is too big for this list!)
  • Short-beaked echidna
  • Southern three-banded armadillo
  • Guianan squirrel monkey
  • Common marmoset
  • Pallas's cat
  • Cotton-top tamarin
  • Azara's agouti
  • Black-rumped agouti
  • Cuban solenodon
  • Kinkajou
  • Banded mongoose
  • Alpine marmot
  • Quokka
  • Marbled polecat
  • Sugar glider
  • Platypus
  • Fruit bat (don't care which species)
  • Lowland streaked tenrec
  • Numbat
  • Mouse deer
  • Rat kangaroo
  • Coati (don't care which species)
  • Striped skunk
  • Black-and-rufous elephant shrew
  • Ferret (don't care which species)
  • Lemming (don't care which species)
  • Hamster (don't care which species)
  • Aye-aye
  • Slender loris
  • Potto
  1. Yellow-Throated Marten
  2. Common Rock Hyrax
  3. Black-Footed Ferret
  4. Flying Fox (any species)
  5. Tamarin (any species)
  6. Loris (any species)

  23. Hedgehog (any species)
  24. Chinchilla (any species)
  25. Lesser Mouse Deer
  26. Quokka
  27. Armadillo (any species)
  28. Flying Lemur (any species)
  29. Linsang (any species)
  30. Bilby (any species)
All added, except for:
1) @sockeyejo's African Crested Porcupine and Pudu, as they exceed size limits defined by the thread. You can change them with two other animals if you wish.
2) @SallinDaemon's Any Lorisid (Lorises, Pottos or Angwantibo) and Any Small Mustelid (Weasels, Stoat, Polecats, Martens, etc)
3) @SpookDoc's Loris (Any Species)

2) and 3) couldn't be added because the broad definitions encompass multiple row entries even when generalised, so I would need to know user preference or I would have to choose one myself and add them there. For 2), the broadest definition would be one of Slow Loris/Slender Loris/Potto/Angwantibo and one of Weasel/Stoat/Polecat/Marten. For 3) the broadest definition would be either Slow Loris or Slender Loris. If the users don't specify a preference, I will go with the least popular on the list.

Both lists added to the Meta-Wishlist!

Sorry, my bad. Can you swap them for
  • Andean porcupine
  • Lesser mouse deer
Made the changes requested.

Went with the least popular choices on the list, as users didn't specify choices.

  1. Any applicable Leporid (there's definitely some small ones in there, though my favourite species would probably be the brown hare, which is too big for this list!)
Forgot to mention earlier that I was able to add the Brown Hare submission, despite the user's concerns. They range 3-5 kg, which makes them eligible to be added to the Hare type entry that was already open for Hares under 2 kg.

I removed the red fox. Others are over the size limit, but are on the list in the OP.
Got it! Sorry, I am (like so many people with highly niche interests) a compulsive "um, technically" kind of person, LOL.
Red Fox is accepted on this thread, due to an exception explained here. Therefore you can add it back to your List. However, I'll kindly need just one more Animal from you, in addition to the Red Fox, so your list meets the minimum of 15 Animals for it to be accepted.

Ah, in that case I'll specify:

  • European pine marten (Martes martes)
  • Sunda/greater slow loris (Nycticebus coucang)
Since I have already cast your votes in a previous update, for the least popular species as explained here, it would not be possible to go back and change them, because I don't remember which species I cast the votes for, as the rankings have changed now. However, I have some good news. Since your list was already fewer than the maximum and the related "Type Entries" have not received the maximum of 3 votes, I will be able to add these two additionally in the next update.
