Establish your own Minor Faction and FAQ

What happens if the minor faction created loses influence in all systems it was in? Does it just get destoryed and you have to reapply for a new one or do the members get a chance to restart the faction else where but only after a CG like event?

- - - Updated - - -

Q: Which minor faction government types are available (Prison, Theocracy?)

Q: Are we able to submit thruster, power plant etc module ideas, or only weapons?

PLease say in reply to this that we can have an exploration type........

Can we claim a system without life in it?

I think they said in the FAQ's that you need population to expand and so I think then population is needed to start, ah yes here it is:

Where can we setup shop system wise, can we inhabit a system outside of the current Inhabited Human Space and colonize planets and become a power that way? Would there be repercussions for doing so?

It needs to be an inhabited system already. That could be one far out, but that would make it very difficult to expand as expansion requires the system to be populated. We would advise picking a system within the bubble.

Oh dear. I really hoped minor factions would have better mechanics than Power play.

Alas, Frontier are going to carry on the 'fill a meter' nonsense across the modes.

Just like Power play the frustration of trying to advance your goals is not worth the energy bothering.

Sorry sir. That IS how the game is played.

Hi Zac

You wrote the group faction can be part of one of the three superpowers or independent. We consider our group a sub faction of the Pilots Federation. Can this be reflected somehow in the allegiance or would we have to be independent and just put that in the description?

Cheers

I have a question....how long to we have to submit a desired home system? Thats going to have to be a wise choice by the sounds of it!

I am CMDR Elenar, leader of the Achenar Immortals - an Imperial faction. I'll be the figurehead for our group. This excites me greatly. Thank you Frontier!

As an Imperial Democracy, I am currently gathering members' input and will update this post shortly with all our information

Don't update this post specifically. Instead email as per the origional post. :)

Thanks for your work on this Zac, everyone that I've been mentioning this to is very excited. Quick question, now that we're registered is there anything else we need to accomplish before the faction is made and placed in the game? I was a bit unclear on this.

You just need to (if you haven't already) send through the details on the first post to the email address on there. We'll then get these updated and confirm back.

Thanks,

Zac

This. And I am concerned that it seems to have real, lasting influence on the game, you need strength in numbers. Not really in keeping with the spirit of Elite -- "Blaze your *own* trail"?

For me this just reinforces that concept. It gives a new way for people to blaze their own trail. You can now be a part of a player group and minor faction in the game or you can create your own minor faction. You could have deep rich political organisation structures or you can small groups with their own agenda. You can also not be a part of them at all and play in exactly the same way you have been.

That's fine. :)

I was talking about factions that would be newly created and, according to the OP, start with ownership over a system already.

That months grace is specifically for people who have claim over and have been developing a minor faction already. This will be checked by the Dev team, it's not for people looking to just take over an existing minor faction.

Hi Zac, thanks for this update, we really appreciate all the effort You and Frontier puts into player factions! :)

A few questions that we'd like to have it clarified:
- if we were currently helping and acting on behalf an existing NPC faction, and helped them to expand and thrive will we be able to take over them (rename them to be our faction) or we will appear as a new faction in the same system we choose as our home?
- a lot of our players are interested in what advantage will they get once they belong to a player group. What tools will the faction owners have to reward its Cmdrs effort to help expand and thrive? This might help us to get more Cmdrs on board to fight for the same goal on a long run, and we seemed to miss or hear a very few comments about this so far.

Thanks once again, and keep up the good work!
