Question : How does the population of an adopted system affect this mechanic? What would be the advantage/disadvantage of choosing a small population system over a large one?
Hi Zac,
Which minor faction government types are available? Can we choose Empire?
You should aim to have a government type that matches/compliments that of your chosen faction.![]()
Can a player faction be wiped off the face of the Galaxy?
Is there any protection for player factions if so?
Is there a minimal influence level which would cause this?
Hey Zac when choosing a home-world system for our faction do we have to pick a system with the same government type as we intend to be. Ie ToC will be choosing the anarchy government type, does this mean we are restricted to choosing a system that is currently ruled by an anarchy government?
Are there any restrictions that will affect our choice of system such as population size, economy type etc taking into account that we are choosing anarchy as a government type.

These are important questions for us too.[D]oes this mean upgrading existing stations is on the table? Terraforming?
Yeah, there's definitely a group there already. If you go to the system, which in terms of stations is pretty dinky, one of the minor factions is sitting at 98% influence. Haven't heard of that happening without a group actively supporting them.I think I have seen some players already settling into Hyperion! And please tell me the god worshipped at this church is Spode!
One of my top ten SF books. An amazing, imaginative ride. Its part of a series called The Hyperion Cantos. It was actually a reference to the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons. The Shrike Cult worships one of the inhabitants of Hyperion as a god. Incredible series. It would be fun to have them as a minor faction in game, but I don't have the time to start a group just for the express purpose of creating the faction, and then having to battle for turf. Ah well...
The Bacon Cats are coming to a system near you soon .......

Is it possible to create a new faction in a system that requires a permit? Are these systems reserved?
I really cant see that happening. You would start off with no external stations, so no permits could be gained until (if) you expanded. Thats not really fair on the rest of the player base, let alone a bit of an exploit (if used as a defence mechanism). Thats ignoring the fact that most permits have a lore reason associated with the existing controlling factionIs it possible to create a new faction in a system that requires a permit?
