I would like to propose the idea of a mapmode within the galactic map view, where one can insert the name of a minor faction and accordingly see the territory it controls / governs.
A similar construct already exists for the galactic powers, where one can see their territory. But in terms of squadron-based wars or not even wars, but just the desire to see the territory in space that a faction owns, one must reside to third parties such as EDDB or Inara.
In my own opinion, I think it would be a great feature for Elite: Dangerous and the community around its player groups to have the option to see their territorial boundaries in 3d format, much like how the galactic powers are viewed right now. And, it should technically not be too limiting or demanding, the view itself could simply be based around showing systems that are under total control by a minor faction. So presence in a system alone will not make a faction expand in territory, rather, for their territory shown to expand, the faction would have to take control of the controlling station.
That is all from my end.
Yours sincerely,
