You think they woke up yesterday and went into work thinking, "Here comes a flawless release. Maybe a little hiccup here and there, but thankfully we've checked it forwards, backwards, side to side and upside down, and there's NO WAY we'll have any major bugs like... fighter lag being extended to all NPCs when multiple players are present, decapitated CMDRs looking at their bodies after leaving the store, ships turning invisible from your SRV, engineering being rendered inoperable, engineering effects becoming invisible, modules from previously flown ships persisting on the module list of your current ship, etc."We don't know if that ever happened.
Unless they took extraordinary measures to prevent this garbage upon the update (testing it, perhaps?), there's no way they could have had that confidence. We know the extraordinary measures weren't taken because they did release the update we've all seen, so it's a certainty that they pushed it out with the expectation that it would be a negative experience for their consumer base. We already know they don't care about this, because remember beta testing? All the bugs that were flagged and discussed openly throughout the community? And the way the updates shipped after beta, with those very same bugs crawling all over for weeks? Hell, they're still addressing the landing gear for the Mamba NOW.
At this point, any of us who care are merely screaming into the void. We complain in hopes that somebody actually listens. I KNEW when I saw FDev's response on the issue tracker that they were going to ignore fighter lag and only address the attack command spam, so I made sure to mention that the stacking instance lag is a big issue even without the command exploit. I saw several other comments mentioning the same. When they asked for questions on the live stream, I asked for them to clarify whether they've addressed fighter lag, but they took a question about whether you can buy cosmetics directly or only with arx, or some other such shill. Lo and behold, ship-launched fighters are still broken. Deep core mining in a wing has been completely broken since it was released in December. In fact, taking the broken engineering, mining, multicrew, wing UI, graphical glitches upon planetary landings, etc. into consideration it seems the entire Horizons expansion is broken. How much confidence do we have that ALL of this will be fixed?
