Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

True that, but hey we were dumbfounded by two scenery packs in a row last year. Even with the production of Sounds of Summer being the reason, one could dream for a similar pattern with animal packs right?
Yes is time for animal packs!
Woodlands/forest animal pack for the win, with tropical SA species, monkeys and birds. If we are going to dream let's do it the big way.

I see your point but We previously did have scenery packs one after another. Sure, this is because we did not have animal packs until year two, so it does make sense that we had a chain of scenery packs. But it doesn't change the fact that consecutive scenery packs happened more ofthen than consecutive animal packs (which never happened at all).

I’m gonna go for a Central Asia pack:

1. Nilgai
2. Lion-Tailed Macaque
3. Pallas’ Cat
4. Himalayan Monal
5. King Cobra

Other swap-ins could include the Blackbuck, Markhor, Sloth Bear and Takin.
I love this with my whole heart but India doesn't really count as Central Asia. The nice thing is that your exact lineup could just be done as an Indian Subcontinent Pack instead. Pallas and monal are both in the subcontinent (as are takin/markhor, and ofc a ton of other possible Indian species).

But the current trend really suggests to me that these Himalayan species will get covered in a Highland/Montane pack with spectacled bear and others.

In fact, the naming trend of "Arid" makes me really feel like "Montane" is next.

Metrics say theme packs are usually more succesful in drawing in the crowds than animal packs, so I don't see them making 2 animal packs in a row.

I think we'll be getting a woodlands pack with
  • Tassie Devil
  • Wild Boar
  • Muntjac
  • Kiwi/pheasant
  • an Owl species for WE (Not too confident on that one)

It wasn't really "dumbfounding"; they wanted Halloween-themed scenery to come out on Halloween so they changed the rotation. The pattern hasn't changed. Unless they're scrapping scenery packs for the end of the game (unlikely) or they want to capitalise on Christmas scenery (also unlikely, they already did that with the Arctic Pack), it's virtually guaranteed the next one will be scenery.

With the Arid Animal Pack on the way, regional themed packs are apperently back on the menu, so im kinda into the idea of an india animal pack. I dont know if this is what i would like to see as the next pack, but id be definetly happy if this comes later down the line
Mabye this could be coming under the disguise of a Scrubland or Savannah pack.

My Roster

Blackbuck: I think its getting kinda obvious that frontier loves antilope, and we are missing some asian ones
Nilgai: same as above
Asiatic lion: I kinda warmed up to the idea of getting these guys. Would be awesome to get a 2023 quality lion, and theres gotta be some clones
Honey badger: Im missing them in the Arid and Grasslands packs so they will get a home here
Grey langur: Pretty iconic monkey, would give asia a more traitional monkey
Painted stork: Would be our first stork, we need more habitat birds and should be relatively easy to make
Grey junglefowl: A pretty terrestrial bird, could also be used as a substitute for domestic chickens which would be
King cobra (E): Super iconic snake
Rose ringed parakeet (WE): Pretty bird that would be cool as a WE option since it fits the bat formular of small fliers in big numbers

Honorable mentions: Sloth bear, Wild boar, Gaur, Great hornbill,

So the arid pack isnt a north african animal pack?
No, it's an "Arid Animal Pack". Just because the roster is all African doesn't mean the intent is to return to regions, and believing it is is foolish.

Edit: Besides which, the dromedary and sand cat are both also Middle Eastern animals, the Somali wild ass lives in East Africa, not North Africa, and the porcupine's main range is West and East Africa. The only animals in the pack exclusive to North Africa is the addax and dama gazelle.

I understand the frustration that the pack didn't explore other parts of the world, but if anyone seriously believes it signals a return to regions then they're just setting themselves up for disappointment (which seems to be something this community loves to do).

Also the porcupine is european.

Agree lul.
If porcupine will get european tag then camel easily can have oceania one.
And the camel australian
Porcupines and fallow deers were possibly introduced by the ancient romans to europe more than 1700 years ago. At this point they are naturalized as much as the Dingo (another human introduction included in the game).

Camels were introduced to australia in the last 2 centuries and do not operate as a natural part of the ecosystem yet.

Fallow deers are the most apt comparison. If the porcupine is not counted as european then neither is the fallow deer, which came in the europan pack.
