Fallout 1st

Speaking of Bethesda, I have to finish Angry Joe's crazy rant about the $99 Fallout 76 subscription!
LOL it's a hundred bucks a year?
Suddenly Microsoft's and EA's 4 quid a month, which include dozens of games - including Outer worlds, the game made by people who made last good Fallout - doesn't sound like a bad deal!

I can't even get up anymore of all the popcorn I've eaten since this game was released. :D I was always certain it would flop hard, as the entire game premise was crap (a fallout game completely stripped of everything that makes a fallout game great but with added multiplayer), but never imagined it would fail in such spectacular fashion.

I truly hope the crash and burn continues, so that Bethesda is forced to rethink their current ways and can no longer risk botching ES6.

I think it's already too late and not a matter of "if" they will screw up ES6. Nothing in the past 10 years shows that Bethesda is a company that learns from previous mistakes. They have hammered a modified buggy broken game engine into every game since ES4. They already stated that they are planning on using the same engine for starfield and ES6.

I picture another Elder Scrolls with hammered in multiplayer and/or at the least lots and lots of micro transactions.

I have a theory - all the high heads from major AAA studios meet and made a lottery, the "winner" would be force to make the worst of the worst just to see how lazy and cash grabby can one get in today's gaming industry. It has to be some sort of social experiment or maybe Bethesda is "burning the factory" for a insurance fraud :D

I think they all just got tired of big fat checks and are now competing at being the worst company ever. Just for the giggles.

It's like they're yelling at each other
"Hey, look how stupid our player base is!"
"Hah! That's nothing. Look at ours!"

... and paid mods, with active barriers to tools like nexus etc, and even more downgrading of RPG elements and writing...

You're right, this is mostly wishful thinking on my part... Unfortunately, I too believe Bethesda is too far gone by now, and Skyrim was the last great Elder Scrolls game we'll ever see. Seeing Bethesda going dark side kind of pains me a bit, after (the original) Bioware scrapped and Bethesda going nose down in flames, 2 of my all-time favorite studios (and consequently 4 of my all-time favorite franchises) went down really fast in a relatively short amount of time.

So who's community managers have it worse right now? FDev, Bethesda, or Blizzard? Is Ed about to do the prodigal son thing? How much money should I invest in the antacid market?

I dunno man. Would you bother putting in an effort when some Roberts guy is convincing people to hand over 27K$ for nothing? CIG set the new low bar; everybody's just doing the limbo.

Im not even phased or surprised anymore. Just more from the growing list of trash developers/studios: Bethesda, Bioware, Blizzard, Gear Box, Ubisoft, Activision, konomi..... I find my self looking at game trailers now and looking at who made it and basing my decisions off of that, not if it looks fun or cool. I didn't use to do that.

A good reminder as well that as much as I sometimes have issues with FD... FD has not turned into them....yet.

Nowadays i realize that i more or less look to independent game developers and the big ones have lost me completely.

EA - Battlefield series is now crap and a DLC fest
Bethesda - Yea, Fallout 4 was at most, acceptable
Blizzard - Sorry, your half Diablo III lost completely to the very excellent Path of Exile (which have some REAL re-playability)

Surprise surprise the new subscription update is broken and deleting player items. Also your "private" servers are just recycled instances and anyone can join them.

Sorry: Fallout 4 was the best so far. New Vegas was great and did have a couple sweet dlc.
Skyrim is still the bomb.
Hopefully they will learn. What works, what doesn't.
