Fdev.. Can we have tanks?

I know that we aren't getting any new SRVs, ships etc. But with the addition of a combined arms style system in odyssey we need more vehicles, some modern day examples could include...

Tanks: T90, Abrams, Leopard 2, Challenger 2

Anti Aircraft vehicles: Stormer, S400, Patriot

Etc.

My point is, we have many ships, we have a new collection of handheld weapons, however we only have 1 kind of vehicle, and in a combined arms situation you would want different vehicles specialised with different roles

Only having 1 vehicle for the combined arms gameplay wouldn't make a lot of sense, so I have thought up some futuristic ideas for elite

Tank: Gladiator (placeholder name)
Armed with a rail gun as its main gun, as well as a turreted plasma repeater as its coaxial secondary weapon, features stronger shields and armor than an SRV but is a lot slower and a much larger target

Infantry transport: Spartan (placeholder name)

An armored transport designed to carry troops or cargo safely, features no weapons but offers great protection to personnel inside.

Anti Air: Hawk (placeholder name)
Would be a lightly armored vehicle so it would need to be protected, features a dual/quad barrel heavy plasma repeater and 2 seeker missiles to provide AA support to other vehicles or infantry against ships

Bonus vehicle idea just for fun: Halberd (placeholder name)
A guardian hybrid tank designed by Ram Tah from scavenged guardian wreckage which hovers over the ground rather than tracked, avoiding landmines at the cost of less armor, features weapons similar to guardian sentinels (the guardian plasma launchers and missile launchers)

The current SRV is certainly not combat worthy, you can lose 20% of your Hull integrity by driving into a pebble too quickly. Sure its plasma repeaters can probably do a lot of damage to an on foot CMDR, but a ship? Especially an engineered one?

A tank would not be too unbalanced either, after all the game is getting a handheld rocket launcher already to counter such vehicles. And ships should have no trouble tearing ground vehicles apart, especially engineered once

I know for sure that the Empire/Federation/Alliance are not going to bring an SRV into battle as its practically made of paper and can be destroyed by rocks

I guarantee a tank will generate much more hype for future updates in odyssey because after all... Who doesn't like tanks

I understand developing such vehicles would take time, however, vehicles similar to these could attract new players to odyssey, plus opens up new avenues for income due to paint jobs

Sounds a damn good idea,
throw in some sort of surface craft for dragging big mining machines around and you may have the next DLC sewn up
Need to make sure that only size 6+ modules can carry them.... look a bit silly if a cobra lands and a tank gets out....

For sure, it would need to have a large module size definitely

So more work, longer wait and a higher price point? Just asking what we should want first. Since we want so many things. You know, prioritize our wishes perhaps. Just thinking.
Sure I know ship interiors are what a lot of people are begging for right now, me included, however a big part of odysseys selling point is the sphere of combat / combined arms, we already have driving mechanics in game, all they would need to do is design 2 or 3 vehicles, and boom done, ship interiors, as much as I want them, would be a much much harder task, providing uniquely designed interiors for 38 ships would be a huge task

Tunks promises more direct gameplay, so I'm all for that. It would be different from doing the other things though, not complaining about your way of providing ideas, please excuse me if I gave that impression. It's just that 'we' all want so many cool things. I'll shut up now and allow you to go ahead with the brainstorming. o7
