First exploration

Thank you.

Turret firing ok now and I've also mined some mats to reload which will help. I'm learning on the fly here with your amazing help.

I've run it once so I know I can do it, I maybe just panicked.

Also there's a carrier right above the planet so I've bought an auto repair mod

Hey cmdr.... do not give up the ship.... my alt ego: sahara sam in onsite and although he has a lot of experience,, he just lost one of his SRV while it was sitting under his cobra. He now faces fuel allotment... down to 53% and uable to manufacture more. May have to go find a carrier to refuel. Now you can understand why you want a buddy system.. killing those guardians ARE not easy once they star firing those missiles. To those who can do it easily.... I tip my hat to you but for those who are just starting... they are a nightmare...... Play hide and seek and ambush when ever you can... look for me, I will drive with you
Would I need to go to open play ?

Log out of the game and log back in... You can start collecting the materials and scans again and again and again... If you only do it once, you will not have enough guardian materials to get the FSD booster...

Do you have an account on Inara.cz? If not, create one, link your elite account and then you can see what materials you need for what component and it will also show you what materials you already have... Like this:

You see, for Guardian FSD booster, I need 1 Guardian Module Blueprint Fragment (the blue 1 before the description) and I do have exactly one (the 1 in brackets - the red arrow is pointing at)

I also need 21 Guardina Power Cells and I have 85 in my cargo...

You get the idea.. :)

Here is the link to the Techbroker page on Inara, so that you do not need to wander around too long, it can be overwhelming for a new member:

Once I have the blueprint fragment can I then just go for the other stuff I need ?

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties killing them... I was new when I first encountered them... All you need is to know how to drive in the turreted mode, manufacture premium ammo, repair SRV with premium repair stuff and then just drive, fire, kill... They are really easy, each one of them takes about 30 shots or so... They usually only fire one missile before you kill them... The missile usually only takes 30-40% of your shields, once you have 4 pips to shields... Or 3 shields and 3 weapons, I do not really remember the exact PIP management, but have strong shields, everything Premium and you are really going to enjoy killing them...

Of course you must not panic... :)

Yes, once you have the blueprint, you do not need to go for it again, just harvest all the other stuff, relog and harvest again... Just check Inara to see how much you need more, make sure you have enough of everything and then you can go to get those shock mounts.... :)

Sorry about this Cmdrs

Well've all been there.

I was just thinking about the Guardian run. There is nothing else like it in the game. I suppose because you're following a 'script' or instructions. You have to do those things in the right order. Anyway, my point is. Once you're done, you have enough to go back to civilisation and you never have to do this again. You unlock this module and after that you can buy as many as you like in any size. Going on your much earlier posts, the module will help you achieve what you want to do.

Take heart, I didn't attempt this (mainly because I had no idea about it) until I had been playing for at least a year. You're doing great.

Yeah... I wish there was more of similar content.. There is just Guardians, Thargoids and some CG are interesting... Like that ghost ship recently... I wonder how is it possible, that in the entire galaxy, consisting of hundreds of billions systems, there is only one active alien civilisation and one extinct... Every jump I take, I take with hopes, that in the next system, i will discover some new civilisation... I wouldnt mind if they were in their stone age... I just want to see more life...

Also, the gas giants with life, why cant we investigate the life forms... Also, why is all the life in entire Galaxy the same? Bark mounds, brain trees, pumpkins etc... Oh well...

Dont get me wrong, the game still makes me happy enough, that I am now playing for 9 months and I have already clocked 900 hours, that is 3 hours of playing each day... Wow... I just surprised myself... :)

I quite agree and who knows what Odyssey will bring but even small things, why is it in general I only ever find crashed ships in populated areas? What is it I don't find any (even if in 1 out of 100 systems explored) way out in the black. Maybe some coms to scan, couple of mats to harvest.

I guess they have to hand-make those systems rather than rely on procedural generation.

How do I get the Focus crystals, I have everything down to those, according to Inara ?

Focus crystals are mats that you normally pick up after blowing a ship up. They are materials you get from ship wreckage. When you get back to civilisatio, you can either try to blow up a ship and get some or in a lot of systems you will see signals in space ‘undetected signal’, something like that. When you point to them, they will resolve to show a variety of things including one that is called ‘degraded....’ something or other (helpful I know but I’ve forgotten the actual name). You should be able to find some in there, if not, you will find something and you will be able to trade with a material trader.
You cannot buy focus crystals. You might be able to earn them as part of a mission reward, but that would take more hunting than looking for the previously mentioned signals.
If you’re sure you have all you need from the Guardian site, head home, you are done there.

Well done, it is tough but worth it.

I just gotta laugh here.... i must be the unluckiest driver out there.... I fall in with these sentinels and they don't waste time firing shots at me.. they immediately start with the missiles... try fighting when you are bouncing around the playing field like a super ball. Kinda hard to kill these sentinels upside down... took your adivse... synthed up special ammo... didn't help me at all... still got missiles and eventually killed... I finally figured it out... ambush.... let the sentinels fire at other players, then come in and zap them.....they are so focused on shooting at what is in front. they completely ignore me until it is too late and the first from both of us..destroys it. Now that is fun.

Congrats on your successful mission... you can also get focus crystals doing missions. or go to a trade broker and see if you can do some trading for them. I will recall Sahara Sam... somehow, we missed connections but he got one heck of a lot of parts and plans to do his fsd upgrade. see you in the dark

I'm only missing 2 Obelisk data scan drops from the list, once I have these
does that mean I've got the FSD upgrade

Once you have all the ingredients, you'll need to head back to the bubble, you'll need to find a Tech Trader that deals in Guardian goods. You basically give him all the stuff. Then when you go to outfitters in stations, the module is available to buy, most stock it.

I'll have a look in a bit and find a place for you to hand all the stuff in. Then you just need to buy the module. The module will be available to buy as many times as you like once you have done this one bit. You could buy a thousand of them, if you wanted to.
