I recommend the underbelly of the galaxy; a lot of it is unexplored.

I'm coming across quite a few systems now that have either not been fully mapped, or not been mapped at all. Just jump into a system and nothing at all in it was mapped. Pinged it and their are 10 planets in the system

I'm not even that far out yet either... I'm going to pass a system later called "Fuel Star", which is says is a last stopping point for refuelling.

Not to worry, just means it the last star that you can reach on the original plot on your current tank of gas. As long as you are jumping through KGBFOAM periodically and refueling, that location will update every time you access the Galaxy Map.

I'm manually plotting a route to the next sector, Acheron, my route is currently 1,604ly. Will that route still be in my Nav panel when I relog back in ?

That I do not know, I doubt it because it replots a normal route when you go to sys map after logging in. Someone more used to Exploration should be more help.
