Notice Fleet Carrier Update - Known Issues

Having had no issues at all last night, I just logged on and 1. ATC voices are gone and 2. the number of unidentified signal sources in my current system Pleiades Sector IH-V c2-7 has dropped from an average of 40+ to 7

I was in in Pleiades too (near Maia) and there were not as many NHSS as last time i was there. Plus didn't find any Hydra in NHSS lvl8 and most of signals were scouts only. Maybe it's related to your problem with spawn stuff or idk.
 
Is the Blue Danube still on? I was playing only about 30 minutes after the update and I don't remember hearing it... :mad: ATC voices are gone, that I noticed. But Dav's Hope?!?!?!?! o_O

I entered the game just to take out my abandoned Cutter from Burann and sell the last transport of LTDs. Too bad I spent only a few hours mining in the past month. I usually don't play for a week after a major patch like this, just to let things settle.
 
If you initiate a carrier jump while you are not at the carrier, then drop out of supercruise at the carrier, you have to cancel a docking request before it will let you request a docking.

Yeah don't know but with no issues last night and now this, I'd say it has to be update related
 
I don't mind the "work"; the problem is that you cannot do it remotely, so if you want to send you're carrier more than a tank's distance away, you have to follow it with a ship. :(
If there was actually an auxiliary fuel tank, I could remotely (carrier management) schedule jumps until the tank(s) are empty. If the (aux) tank was large enough, for instance, I could start it off from bubble to colonia, whilst I fly my exploration ship ahead (it's faster, distance/time), exploring away, and play around in Colonia, until my FC showed up (as I scheduled jumps ... or, imagine this, being able to set a route...)

You can do it with a trusted accomplice though. You can setup a sale of the available materials really cheap, buy it back at twice the price to cover the cost and then sell it again and have them donate it. But yeah, you need someone on the carrier, even if it isn't you, which is silly since you have a staff.

On the Advanced Maintenance screen on my carrier, when I repair all external modules twice now that screen has semi frozen with two lots of writing overlapping over each module description.
The only way I can exit the screen is to hit start button and exit to main menu.
I am on Xbox oneX.
 
OK, that makes sense. I had not thought about being absent from my carrier that completely, but it's a scenario for sure.

My exploration method will be to move within the 250ly radius "bubble" surrounding each carrier waypoint, rather than a linear route.
Well ...go somewhere 1200ly above bubble, and try to find rings to land carrier, will see how can u hold "250 around" :D
 
Add to this please, asking for docking permission and being denied (even in solo) and then being unable to ask for docking permission again until you relog.
 
Tritium in the RBS 1843 system is infinite. On the Nyberg Dock station market. Is this how it should be?

Yeah, Dave's Hope went poof. Bummer I found out when I got there though. No biggie.

2 FCs in orbit around the planet. (seems like over kill but they look really nice)
Federal navy interdicted me 3 times in the system. Didn't bother scanning me, they're just being bullies.
Hope FC works the bugs out.
I'm not so sure that I'm keen on the whole fleet carrier thing. I don't care if they're NPC or not. I'm sure I'll get used to the notion of em
Yeah I know humanity in the game needs progress. But if yer gonna HAVE FCs with 500ly jump ranges and what, 10 pads (I forget the exact count) the galaxy is gonna get smaller faster. We're gonna need another galaxy 🤪 (HINT)

I went to a few systems I haven't been too in the bubble, though they're well established systems, I had to FSS scan em just to be able to get information on half the planets. Never had to do that before. Half the planets in systems I have been in need to be FSS scanned as well, that is if I want to know what I'm prospecting for. But I'm sure this will all come out in the wash. It's nothing more than a minor irritant.

The new tweeks on interfaces will take getting used to, but they are nicely simplified.
But what we really need in the current ships is cup holders and the ability to clean the windows.

Since in almost 5 years all players combined have so far visited less than 0.05% of the galaxy and there are literally 3.7 BILLION yet undiscovered (not to mention all of the content of those systems). FC can only start to encourage expansion and YES, thoughts of opening portals to new galaxies in the future!
 
As a developer, let me just say, that while testing/staging environments are designed to be as close to "production" as possible, not everything can be 100% identical (in a financial system, for example, you don't really want to initiate that bank transfer in a non-production environment). So, while everything may have worked smoothly in the beta environment, there can be unexpected / unforeseen effects when put into the live environment. Just saying "it's not that simple". I would also point out that it's almost always better to "fail forward", than to "roll back" and have to start all over. Finally, remember everyone, this is just a game; give them time to figure out why things went awry, and take care of them.
My post wasn't an attack on the Devs, I understand they're doing a difficult job to the best of their abilities in a difficult time, I just couldn't understand how something almost so right(beta) could go so wrong in the live but as I said I have no knowledge on the subject and now I have a slightly better understanding so thank you.
 
Don’t know if mentioned, but on PS4 Pro using Quality, some of the ‘Wavy’ pre jump & Super Cruise effects are now completely gone.

I haven’t been interdicted yet, so cannot tell if the wavy effects are also gone from that...

I used to have a standard PS4, so noticed this special effect when I upgraded.

Hoping this gets rectified. A few other PS4 Pro users have noticed this issue on Discord.

When I left the carrier anf jumped into SC I got locked in the sub-space tunnel. Crazy. Game lock and then the boot. Nice.

there'd be more sympathy if this was in any way an exception for Elite...rather than the rule. Though, it's so predictable that it's probably better to just call it a law.
