Fleet Carriers - Patch 3 - Known Issues

I'll raise you half a Denari, and a clip from my Gnosis video when FDev left us stranded on a doomed carrier surrounded by Thargoids.
It just keeps getting better - Thanks FDev!

I made a last minute decision to join the Gnosis for that jump. I swapped an AX scanner and one each of AX multicannon and missile launcher onto my AspX, just in case, then buckyballed my way out there the fastest I could. Docked with an hour or so left before Gnosis jumped.

Logging in the next day after work was an interesting experience. My first and to date only encounter with the Thargoids was having to dogfight Scouts straight out of the Gnosis launchbay. Well, that and after I'd had enough of tangling with the Scouts I peeped into a NHSS for just long enough to see a larger Thargoid ship coming towards me and nope the hell out of there.

I absolutely understand why many people were so unhappy about how that situation was handled, but for me personally it was pretty exciting.

This as happened too me, i had had over 2500 Tritium in my cargo hold on the FC. I found a nice double overlap of LTD and sent for the FC. Swopped over from my ASP X too my mining Anaconda and noticed the Tritum deposit was still at 1000, when it should have been closer too 250-300 after a couple of jumps. I then looked into my cargo hold on the FC and NO tritium deposits BUT i did have some LTD in store that i mined a week or so back. Now im 2500LY from the nearest Station with 800 Tritium deposits.

So now i have too mine Tritium to get back to a station and with how mining is now a nightmare, i think my best option at moment is to wait a week or 2 to see if it gets fixed, or sell the FC were it is at the moment and cut my losses.
This isn't what i want to do (or expected in anyway) but i am very dissapointed with the situation.
I put in a ticket. They told me I was up to date when I logged back in. I was replenished in the Anaconda but not in the cargo bay. Just had a 2k run and had some extra Tritium thrown in but not the promised 1000T. I got about 300T

Tried three Notspots and only found 3 roids with SSD. Found more Bromelite than anything else. I'm 30 k ly in the black so may give it another go later. Rings are few and far between out here o7 Vid looks good

hmm... Probability that I am just SO lucky that I manage to get reasonable results in every Tri hotspot I try is next to impossible.
Although I am open to every option. There may be factors we have no idea about.

I don't think luck has anything to do with it. Answer me this. when mining, how many limpets/fragments do you get stuck in roids? It happens at least twice in a 2 hours session. I noticed from you Vid that nothing seems to get stuck but just bounces off. FD say they cannot replicate it so shut the ticket even though I have Vids to prove it

I have been mining singles no problem. Profits are in the same 100-200 mill per hour range as they were in January. This is core mining/ SSD or surface. Specifically targeting orange rocks though.

One place has puzzled me : a very, very well overlaped Tri3,
that gives almost no Tri SSD,
but some LTD cores instead.

And laser mining content is extremally low - average Tri % is... 0.59!
In TRIPLE Tri hotspot.

It look like Tritium hotspots are working "backwards". Overlapping removes Tritium.
I would stay at singles and Tri/LTD overlaps - I don't know why but LTD overlap seems to boost number of Tri SSD,

Tried again to log in hoping Frontier had added some servers.
One account got the CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER error and the other one didn't.
Both ships ended up in SOLO even though I selected PRIVATE GROUP.
At least they both ended up on the same station where I left them.
Now for the really strange stuff.
Even though the ships were in SOLO, the LOCAL COMM feed was identical.. Same NPC chatter in both Account comm Screens.
Then I noticed that somehow, I seem to be running two different Patch Versions.

Even though both ships appear to be on the same server???

And... It's me again, your favorite hate target. with some more "bad" news.
It seems like some rings were immune to nerf : I just did a lazy Painite one hour laser mining run in a Parinte double overlap that I have never tried before and the result is:

yep, 310 ton per hour,
instead of my usual 200t/h.
In a slow Anaconda with 4 mining lases only.
I must admit this "success" was surprising even to me.

Percentage distribution seems to be a bit HIGHER then it was before the patch.
It does not match any other Painite2 I have tested lately, it's about 150% over the post-patch norm.

yep, 310 ton per hour. In laser mining, that apparently is dead :)

No hate here Icey, appreciate the research.

You may just had some lucky run ?

I'm also at 250-300t/hour on hyades (on lucky ones) , but still pre nerf it was more 400/500T/h .

You may just had some lucky run ?

I recommend to test this spot and check it out.
I have dropped halfway between hotspot centers, what actually should not be optimal, becasue one is bigger.

Distributions is so similar to pre-patch curve, it really confuses me.

"Lucky?" I am more into thinking that some spots were "lucky" and other very much not.

To balance things out : I have tested another ring yesterday - one with lot of LTD, TRi, VO hotspots and some overlaps.
Theoretically it should be a "Miner's Mecca".
But results were a disaster:

This was in a perfect TRI3 overlap : three large hotspots close to each other, center of the middle one halfway between others two.

And there were just no Tri SSD. Alexandrite cores and ....water and I think liquid oxygen in almost every SSD I found.

I have checked a single Tri hotspot in the same ring later and it was much better (160t/h) - almost as good as I am used to.

It looks like in some cases Tri overlapping works backwards, it actually removes the Tritium from spot:
Actually this specific place was like purged from any content.
Check the averages for this Tri3.

@Just Ice
Painite weren't "nerfed". I mined it in 3 different double overlaps since Jul 15.
Thou i'm not PRO miner in 192cargo Python, i get full cargo in <1h.
GCRV 1568 AB1 was the best place last 3 days in terms of LY from mining point to selling point.

Painite were nerfed a bit , but with resonable numbers , and i feel like it was the thing intended for LTD/tritium too. (i'm only talkign about surface here)

Also price at market dropped alot for LTD , making them value less than painite , which is a bit lame imo.
