Fleet Carriers - Patch 3 - Known Issues

The game is not broken. Just some mining parts. I have not mined for over a year (mainly for Engineer access), but I have a FC with enough upkeep for over a year and 20,000 t of Tritium in the hold. I also have over a bil in my Cmdr. The game is playing well with only a few glitches (about twice a week).
It is possible to gain approx. 70 mil with 2 - 3 hours trading or mission work, which is more than enough for FC upkeep.
This is not a mining simulator and the other aspects of the game are working.

I agree, and other aspects are enjoyable.

However, with the current state of affairs, newcomers and those who don't have much cash (for whatever reason) are effectively denied FC access; getting the credits together is... well... the word "grind" is underestating it a little.

Yes, but the FCs were meant to be an end-game feature. Why do newcomers want an FC?, if they are newcomers they will not have many ships to carry.

Edit: When the Corvette and Cutter were introduced there was not this outcry of the rank grind needed for Fed and Empire.

UPDATE: We are investigating the issues above, and are working on a patch. We will update you with the date for this patch as soon as we have it. Thank you for your continued patience.

o7 Commanders.
Is that an announcement (this post) of an announcement ("will update you with the date") of an announcement ("this patch")?

End game they may be, and I understand that. However, new content entices new players and I'm guessing - I may be wrong - the FC stuff may have brought some new folks along.

As far as the 'Vette and Cutter are concerned, that was before my time. However, I didn't find it a problem gaining the ranks needed for those. Then again, it may have been much harder to do at the time - I can;t answer that.

ONLY if you play SOLO or single player OPEN maybe.
If you play on a PC in PG and/or WING the game is broken irrespective of the damage done to mining since you cannot get into PG without wasting 45 minutes to an hour logging in and out to finally catch the servers in sync. Then, if you get into wing, there isn't any guarantee that you will stay in wing as apparently the servers get overloaded and rather than discomfort the FC's, the game dumps player out of wing.

Nothing is going to fix anything until Frontier springs money for more server capacity.

BTW,, I am having a BALL playing Torchlight II and a couple friends that have never played anything like it are play single player just to get their game bearings before we try to link up and play as a group.

I checked my EDDiscovery database and when I started playing, it took me more than a year to get to 500M (started ED in 2015!) 😓

Because it's the only significant new content we've had in a year and a half, and players don't like feeling left out?

Based on the system maps, load times, and 2 minute scroll to the bottom of the navigation panel, not enough people have been left out.

LOL at everyone whining "there is no Tritium we can mine" after the patch - this was falsified already,

There is plenty of Tritium.
In SSD.
You can mine 250+ tons/h solo.

There is a catch though - you won't find it in Tritium hotspot.
(EDIT: some cmdrs do, but probably less, otherwise crying and whining would be less intense)

Just go to some other HS...
LTD hotspots seem to give very good Tritium yields.
There are so many Tri SSD there, that I recommend equipping muliple SubS lauchers so you won't have to synthesize ammo.

PS. Of course is doesn't change the fact, that last patch was a total disaster.
But whe know some workaround already, instead of wasting you time for forum rants, if you need to refuel your FC in deep space, equip subsurface launchers and do some mining.

And if you are in bubble.
You can laser mine
200+ Painite per hour easily,
sell it for 800k,
buy 4000t for "normal" 40k price
which should cover ca. 12.000 ly of FC jumps.

Yes, it will take a few hours to fill up your FC with Tri "up to the teeth" SOLO.

But remember that FCs were NEVER supposed to be a "toy" for solo players.

Paradoxically, after "game breaking" patch, FCs work more like they were supposed to originally.

That's odd. I'm still only finding it in tritium hotspots.

That's even better for you, most cmdr reported Tritium near to absent in Tri HS.
How many SSDs you get on average per 4 prospectors salvo?

Because in LTD HS RNG can be really generous ;)

And for the love of Christmas, can you PLEASE fix the way in which we have to refuel FCs.

Me: Hey, tritium depot dude - can you transfer fuel from the FC cargo bay to the fuel tank?
Tritium Depot Bod: Uhhhh sorry not my job
Me: Oh.......remind me what is it you do around here?
This is another thing that is made more simple and at least understandable by making Tritium a scoopable fuel.

Well. I got this results actually in... Tri/LTD overlap.

I even wrote about it HERE in the same thread :))
