Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Beta 2 - Patch Notes

Any word on fueling carriers from storage remotely? Can we get an external camera to watch the jump?? (I mean a bridge would be awesome, but an external camera would be fine.)

Also, Can you online/offline your services without being in a carrier management system? If not why not, what's the point of the suspension system if you can do it in the black.

I've confirmed that I can indeed suspend/resume services without being in an administration system. I still cannot add new or deactivate services, replace service administrators, nor purchase ship/module stock however.

As a reminder, the Fleet Carriers Update Beta 2 will be going live today at 11:00 (UTC), for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 Commanders.

We will publish more information to a dedicated Beta section on how you can participate and what to look out for, when the Beta goes live. We would also like to remind everyone that if you participated in the first Beta, that you will not carry over any progress to the second Beta, (what happens in the Beta stays in the Beta).

Fleet Carriers updated features
  • Upkeep cost for all additional services has been reduced by 80-90%.
  • The core running costs have been reduced by 50%.
  • The Debt Threshold has been updated in line with the upkeep changes (This means with all services installed, a carrier can go 10 weeks (up from 4) without paying upkeep before being issued a final warning).
  • The total upfront activation costs of some of the more expensive services have been reduced by 35-45%.
  • The time between jumps has been decreased to 15 minutes for jump preparation and 5 minutes to cool-down.
  • Added Universal Cartographics as an optional service on Fleet Carriers.
  • Fleet Carrier owners can now store their ships and modules aboard their Fleet Carrier by default.
  • When decommissioning a carrier you will now receive a full refund.
  • Voluntary decommissioning will incur a fee equivalent to 50% of the Debt Threshold.
  • When cancelling the decommissioning of your Fleet Carrier, you will now receive an inbox message to confirm the cancellation.
  • Reduced the amount of Tritium consumed with each jump by around half.
  • Added a better indication of arriving and decommissioned states for Fleet Carriers on the Cockpit Navigation Panel.
  • Fleet Carrier Services menu now displays the name of the owner.
  • The trade screen in Fleet Carrier Management, now reports the number of imported and exported commodity types separately rather than in a total for both.
Fleet Carrier Bug fixes
  • The all time profit now correctly updates on the Fleet Carrier budget screen.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred if you were in an instance with an arriving Fleet Carrier.
  • Fixed a crash that would happen when replotting a cancelled Fleet Carrier jump.
  • Fleet Carriers can now be filtered in the Galaxy Map regardless of whether the player is docked or not.
  • Fixed the way that Fleet Carrier owner names are displayed in the targeting panel.
  • Fixed a bug which would allow players to target destinations for their Fleet Carriers which shouldn't have been allowed (e.g. starports, asteroid belts).
  • Limpets can now be restocked at Fleet Carriers.
  • Fixed an issue which made it look like restocking wasn't working via the quick action on the Docking Menu.
  • The target reticule will now properly indicate when a selected Fleet Carrier is on the other side of a body.
  • Stopped the Fleet Carrier destination icon from displaying on all Fleet Carriers in the System Map.
Mining
  • Sub-Surface Mining Deposits can now eject multiple Resource Chunks from one successful hit.
Codex
  • Fixed a bug which caused focus to jump to the top of the grid after exiting out of any section within Knowledge Base or Pilots Handbook.
Missions
  • Megaship Turret Missions will now indicate system distance on the Mission Board.
  • If the player has an active Delivery mission, then the mission commodity will no longer have the mission required icon next to it on the Commodities Market.
CQC
  • CQC matchmaking from in-game will now require the usual delay before exiting the game if you are in danger.
Thargoids
  • Fixed Caustic damage not being removed by overheating your ship.
Ships
  • Fixed a bug which caused Landing Gear/Cargo Hatch to visibly clip into the cockpit.
Player Journal
  • Added an event for when a Fleet Carrier is renamed.
  • Fixed a bug where RefuelAll and RepairAll events were written with a null string as the event name.
  • EngineerProgress event is now correctly written when ranking up with an Engineer.
  • Bounty events now include localised ship names.
  • "latlong" flag now set when in a station.
  • Fixed status flags for HUD in analysis and Low Fuel when in SRV.
  • Fixed loadout data written after launching a Ship Launched Fighter.
  • We no longer write a value for ReservePercent to the Journal if total balance is zero or negative.
  • We now include the body name in CarrierJumpRequest.
  • Added Fleet Carrier docking restrictions to market.json file.
  • Added an event for cancelling a Fleet Carrier jump.

has any one seen a problem of 'off by one' when jumping to a planet? Went to Borann A2, go to Borann A3. Thought maybe I missed, so I targeted Borann A1 and verified that was my target and wound up at borann A2
 
Its virtually impossible to preview the Galaxy and see where other carriers are at. How about giving them a yellow locator flag about 1/4 the size of our bookmark flags. These would only appear when selecting "Carriers" in Navigation as it currently is.

Need to be able to fully scan the system you are in from the FC so we know what the heck we have arrived at. A mother ship should have these types of capabilities by default.

Its also less obvious what stars have been visited short of using the map nav system in the visited stars mode. Why was the star ID removed in the FC nav system browsing?

4000 ly out in Deep Space I can not target a planet to land at - only the main star. Once at the main star I could not easily move the fleet carrier to a preferred planet. I finally figured a way around this by going back to my landed ship and using that nav system to target an inter-system planet I wanted to land at - even then the orange target marker cone did not show. Next I moved back into the FC system and targeted the same planet from there - again no FC targeting icon showed up but, this did initiate an inter-system move. THIS WHOLE FC NAV SYSTEM NEEDS COMPLETE RE-PROGRAMING. THE FC NAV TARGETING SYSTEM IS MISSING THE COMPLETENESS WE HAVE IN THE LIVE GAME. EVEN WHEN I LEAVE THE FC AND FLY OFF IN MY OWN SHIP, I CAN NOT VALIDATE NEARBY STARS HAVE BEEN VISITED AND I CAN NOT LOOK INTO THE SYSTEM TO SEE MY DISCOVERED PLANETS....

None of my discovered stars are showing that I have discovered them - even though I have in the live game. Perhaps just an artifact of the Beta but wouldn't bet on that.

When requesting docking to FC I have to request twice. The first toggles the Docking button to cancel a docking process that isn't occurring, the second time requests docking. This needs to be cleaned up.

Boomark and other icon colors are still wrong.

edit: Will Colonia sell FC`s when update goes to live game?

Beta is using a copy of the 'systems explored per player' database from some point way back in time, possibly several years ago. Makes sense as they don't need the full massive current database just for testing. If you started the game since that snapshot was taken you'll have only the default systems, otherwise you'll have whatever you'd explored at that time.
Also, systems only show the System Map button on the popup if they have been explored by you, in the live game they always show the button but colour it red if it's unexplored to you.

In the galaxy map there is a distinct filter at the end of the filters list (iirc it is named Carriers)
I tested that last night on pc and it worked properly (it worked in beta1 too) - all the systems that had at least a carrier were lit Yellow
 
The services filters for Carrier Vendors and Carrier Administration Centers are not working
And at least those 2 filters should work no matter if the system was previously visited or not (the other services filters require a previous visit to the system)

Vendor admin works - now I have visited a few. Not sure why you think you don't have to visit?
 
However 3 double tritiums and 2 double LTDs discovered in the bubble, or close to the bubble in Beta 2. So we are no hopeless.

Why so shouty? No, of course you can't target planets in a system you haven't yet scanned. The FC does not have magic long-range sensors. If you're targeting an explored system in the galaxy map, you can target individual bodies for your carrier jump. If it's a system you haven't mapped, your only choice is to jump to the main star.

Vendor admin works - now I have visited a few. Not sure why you think you don't have to visit?

Because i'm paying a lot of upkeep for carriers - not so much for material traders or the rest of the services :)

Anyway, last night they were not working - the map was all grey and not even Diso, where i got my carrier, was listed as Carrier vendor

Carrier Admin is not the same as Carrier Vendor - Admin was the one I said worked ;)

(I haven't tried Vendor, as I hear they're all full of riff-raff 🏃‍♂️ )
 
Nope, they said it was part of the redesign

Are they serious. Thats dumbest thing what they could have done to galaxy map. The hole damn galaxy is orange, broken stations are spammed orange, and now bookmarks are orange too? wt-f!

If that stays true, i will have to start dig in files and change the damn colors to images.
