Fleet Carriers Update patch 1 - Downtime and patch notes

I knew a mining nerf was needed, I was making 800 mil in a 1.5 hour run. But I am not looking foward to the community to start screaming about how Fdev hates credits or something when it used to be so much harder to get money.

Well, they kinda do. They don't demonstrably show they know how to balance their game. The break something and make it crazy lucrative then nerf bat it. And it makes players who miss the inadvertant gold rushes feel disenfranchised. I have been around a little while and recall so many ways players could "exploit" poorly balanced missions, reps, donations, mining, long distance trading, etc., It feels like there's some new money or faction grind just around the corner, so stay tuned.

FD : Reduced the largest possible yield when subsurface mining for Low Temperature Diamonds by around 25%.

I might be wrong but doesn't the above mean when you find a roid with 4 deposits of SS LTD ?
If so over 95% of the roids I mine have 3 or less ! So not much of a nerf.

Or is it something else ?

Think it'll mean the number of chunks you get, or the value in the chunks.

I've got like 3 years of upkeep money, but then that'll run out and I despise laser mining so i can't really get more

"Choose" to not get more. Think you left that out.

Now I feel guilty. I've been assuming that the bugs I have seen are so common that jillions of people would report them, yet none of them are on the patch list. Worse, I haven't been keeping a running list. I'll try to remember as many as I can and will start keeping a list.

  • Land at station, quickly move down to enter station and select. Selection jumps back up to refuel.
  • Lots of critical mission update audio messages without any mission update anywhere indicated. No longer consistently getting comm messages for mission updates like how many enemy left counts or mission target locations, but sometimes do. (this may be deliberate, dunno)
  • Tried to buy fighters (Taipan) at carrier advanced maintenance and click on the restock, no joy. Click on the fighter image (or selection) and got some kind of server error. Someone I know with a carrier tested it on a different kind of fighter and it worked ok for them.
  • Open galaxy map, select star, select system map, no response or long delayed response. This may be because my internet connection is iffy, but prior to the update it worked well.
  • Seems to be causing my computer to run hotter now. This could be because the weather has been warmer or it could be because the program is consuming more cycles of CPU/GPU time than before the update. I'm definitely seeing more thermal throttling, however. Might want to check total client side processing burden and see if there's something it is doing that isn't necessary to the game. Note: my laptop computer model is known for running hot (Dell G5 15).
  • I followed a carrier as it left the system once, flying right up its butt, lol, trying to see if it would drag me along with it. It didn't, but there were some very strange graphic effects like I was seeing parts of the carrier all around me. Just thought that might be something to look into. Seems like I've also seen some other strange graphics effects like this, parts of things being disconnected from other parts, but no way to dredge those cases out of my memory now.
  • Legacy -- chase a ship out of a conflict zone and can't kill it (phantom ship). Joined by someone who was with you in the CZ and they can't even select it (doesn't show up on their scanner). Have also seen NPC fighters which were unkillable when their mother ship was destroyed (at least, assumed they were NPC fighters).
  • Legacy -- The mouse select still double clicks through...by that I mean I click on a selection and it also clicks on the next menu selection. This is really frustrating. I want to select an inf+++ reward, click on complete mission and it selects a different reward, whatever was under the mouse cursor on the previous menu. I've also seen it at the engineer where I click to select experimental and it also clicks on whatever experimental effect happens to be under the mouse cursor location.
  • Legacy - Sure would be nice to be able to add or subtract just one to the station commodity buy/sell quantity. A single mouse click gives 2. A mouse click and then another really quick and hold may give an odd number much higher or lower than your target amount, then you have to slowly single click 2 at a time to hit your target amount.

I've reported some problems before, so I know how to do it. So please don't instruct me. It just seems too much like work. My bad.

Well Lu Pao now is only 900k per. Haven't gone to other regions yet, because it is almost 4 am and I am winding down for bed lol. Edit: Looks like Sirius has stations that buy for 1.49 still as of 5 min ago.
Okay, so that sounds like normal daily fluctuation. Revising status to "mostly" nerfed.

Still have the UNPURCHASEABLE Repair crew bug on my carrier. I'm decommissioning it to buy another one (hoping to NOT have the bug), but to test if the bug is still there I had to stop decommisioning, now i have to wait 7,8 Days since the bug is still there and I have to start the decommisioning process again. Maybe by the end of the month I'll have a correctly functioning fleet carrier. (issue is https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/16413 ), also opened a ticket, the answer was not nice.

It is going to be fun to see how the LTD/SSD nerf plays out in real time. If FDev went overboard, there will be visible proof of people rage quitting when the concurrent Steam player count crashes.... keyword here is "if". For FDev, maybe change things up and instead of nerfing viable ways to make credits, maybe through boost in sometime. For example the rewards for bounty hunting. ~150K bonds for taking out engineered enemies in combat zones is a tad poop.
