Fleet Carriers Update patch 1 - Downtime and patch notes

Yeah and takes about half an hour if you're really lucky. that means 100 mil/hour max with a full wing of 4 (which is very rare)

Yeah, and if you can reliably find them I guess. Honestly I havent tested those yet I think, I though these kind of missions dont stack anymore? In a sense that when you kill a ship, it only counts towards one massacre mission until that one is finished?

The community has been asking for that for years, and a rebalancing to what other activities paid out for at least a year and a half. Fdev isn't interested.

The fix isn't to take an activity that actually gets people together on the game that they can enjoy in small burst and make it less appealing. I don't know how much this will affect the activity itself but to me the answer shouldn't be "make the most popular activity less profitable" it should be make other aspects more appealing/engaging/profitable and give people the choice on what they want to do.
Well, the way I read it is that an activity that yielded 10/10 in terms of credits got 'nerfed' to 8/10. Where the rest of activities earns between 1/10 and 5/10.

Some demand other activities earnings to be bumped up, and to some extent that would make sense, but mining should definitely not be the yardstick as it is the extreme outlier, otherwise you need to look at ship/outfitting prices also. Which I'm not sure those community members have/had in mind.

  • Reduced the largest possible yield when subsurface mining for Low Temperature Diamonds by around 25%.
=

Increased the required time you spend away from your kids and responsibilities so you can mine by around 25%

Welp, I'm done with this part-time job, game. Stop adding features and then taking them away. That's just poopooty planning. To the interns at Frontier reading this, don't take any positions that open up at that company; trust your instincts, that company's leadership won't take care of you.
Bye! 👋

Don't let the door hit you where the Lord split you on the way out...

Enjoy your kids instead, they grow up awfully fast :)

i am one person not four people. 400 people bounty hunting can probably make a billion per hour, but that doesn't mean you can make a billion per hour bounty hunting. i mean seriously??

:ROFLMAO:

Also there is the issue of reliably and quickly finding those missions, that should factor into the total time quite a lot I think.

no wing missions actually stack. 100 mil/hour is a rare max though with 4 people usally do about 75

So hauling tritium was gone in a day due to player overload,

Tritium Hauling is still way profitable, buy for 4.1k, sell for 50k , IF you own a fleet carrier and are will to put in 5hrs to fill and 5 hrs to unload. But yes of course FC owners and exhausted the "quick 1 system runs" for you peasants, espacially now RBS 1843 was exhausted in the tick yesterday. MMMMWWWWWHHHAAAAAA.

Also if the missions are given by the same faction? Is that a bug in that case? Feels kind of weird that normal massacre missions do not stack, but wing ones do? Any reason for that?

While the wing mission is shared and everyone is in the same instance the kill counts for everyones shared mission so you can stack up to 4 missions. not really a bug but the best way to make money in combat to date.

I think it is because missions have a cap based on your wing size. Each player is only able to post one wing mission at a time.

Just terrible info on what you did to the BGS and what you have now done. We have betas. We have beta feedback forums. Try using them when you mess with the BGS!

Hi everyone,

The downtime will begin at 09:50 UTC, and we expect maintenance to conclude by 10:30 UTC.

In the meantime, here are the patch notes for what we're changing:

Commodity Market
  • Reduced repeat speed on market selection arrows on Compare Market screen.
Mining
  • Reduced the largest possible yield when subsurface mining for Low Temperature Diamonds by around 25%.
  • Decreased the effectiveness of the peripheries of Low Temperature Diamond hotspots.
    • Overlapping hotspots for Low Temperature Diamonds, when coupled with the new Subsurface Mining changes, were more effective than the centre of the hotspot itself. This change increases the drop-off of the hotspot's ring, reducing the likelihood that a double-overlapped hotspot is more lucrative than either of the hotspot's centrepoints. A well-placed triple hotspot will still be very effective at increasing the likelihood of finding Low Temperature Diamonds. This change does not affect any other hotspots or minerals.
Crashes/Stability
  • Fixed a disconnect triggered by selling exploration data at a Fleet Carrier.
  • Fixed an occasional crash when entering a system with a Fleet Carrier.
  • Fixed an issue with some bookmarks being missing.
Fleet Carriers
  • Fixed an issue which could cause a Fleet Carrier purchase transaction to fail.
  • Skybox will now correctly update after a Fleet Carrier jump without having to re-enter the instance.
  • Fixed a bug which allowed players to install additional Carrier services even if they didn't have capacity.
  • Fixed an issue with duplicate Fleet Carrier call-signs - this will cause all Fleet Carrier call signs to be regenerated as of 3.7.01.
  • Fixed some issues with stats not correctly updating.
  • Fixed an issues with carrier jump sequence not always proceeding correctly.
Arx & Customisation
  • Fixed an issues which caused some Fleet Carrier nameplates to be obscured.
  • Fixed the colour of landing pad 7 holo-marker on Fleet Carriers.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when switching Fleet Carrier Layout.
Audio
  • Fixed missing ATC voices at starports.
  • Fixed issue with outfitting ambiance audio layering up on top of itself when going between outfitting and livery.
  • Fixed an issue with Engineer Remote Workshop ambiance persisting into the main game, and can layer up on itself too.
Text
  • Fixed missing titles for the audio logs associated with the Golconda.
Missions
  • Fixed an issue where a collect/source mission would request commodities on sale at the same location.
  • Fixed an issue which caused mission critical updates to not appear in the inbox.
Journal
  • Added a speculative fix for an issue that could cause the game to add excessive NavRoute entries to the journal when looking at the Galaxy Map.
Powerplay
  • Fixed the missing cooldown time which would allow players to repeatedly obtain their allocation of powerplay materials.
Background Simulation and Galaxy
  • Reinstated missing locations.
  • Ongoing balancing of Faction influence normalisation.

Edit: The servers are now live, thanks for your patience!

Stay safe and o7 Commanders.
Can’t log in on Xbox still. Says I can’t connect to frontier servers 😒

(one day folk will stop using the tern 'endgame' in a game that doesn't had an ending... But then, maybe once you have had your FC for a month a massive Thargoid "Boss" will show up and dismantle it, and invalidate the insurance so that rebuy is the full 5 billion again 🤣 )
Your reaction clearly comes from the unfamiliarity with the term:
Endgame, in the context of the average (MMO)RPG is the final stretch of content and character progression beyond the final point of the main progression (usually the level cap, along with the "leveling" content).
The level cap is ships / engineers - let's assume you have all of them you wanted to have, and engineered them the way you have. You also did the voyage to the core and back, dabbled in all in-game activities and know their ins and outs, flipped countless systems in BGS and so forth. Basically, you did everything. You have billions. You can of course continue playing, but there's little incentive to do so other than routine. Gold rushes like that provide at least a bit incentive, and recently dropped fleet carrier content is almost wikipedian example of what an endgame content is. I stopped at ~1.2 billion previously, there was no point to earning anymore, I was comfortable with rebuys for a quite while and was generally playing the game doing what I wanted, not earning the money to do what I wanted.
