Fleet Carriers Update patch 1 - Downtime and patch notes

I dropped into the local LTD hotspot in Carcosa, spent an hour blowing up cores and came back with 78t of LTD & 34t of Grandidierite... Had to drop a lot of limpets to make room.
All down to the luck on the day I guess.

I was filling my 224 ton capacity in about an hour 3 days ago.
I don't get how this nerf can really be just a 25 % reduction in subsurface yield and increased drop off.

Considering Fleet Carriers liveries visually resetting when you let it out of your sight for a nanosecond I wouldn't be surprised about something newly introduced messing with the hotspots, unfortunately.

And not being able to buy Limpets from your carrier immensily diminishes its self-sufficiency.
Also, has anyone else noticed that the rings just look weird now? The texture from a distance is wrong and when you drop out, only asteroids within a short distance are rendering, beyond which there is only a uniform white haze.

tried mining last night.... its basically nuked in any single hotspot.. the places i usually go for singles.... 3.5 hours i found 3 rocks with ltd starting from the center of a hotspot... waY to go frontier, STOP FIXING THINGS THAT WERE NOT BROKE.So much for getting a decent bankroll together.

I had the exact same experience.. 1 rock found per hour... after 3 hours i ended up with 20 ONLY because 1 out of 3 was a core.

They didn't nerf mining, they NUKED IT

Well, spent 1 hour at the centre of a LTD hotspot, after 100 prospector limpets, I found ONE, JUST ONE!!!!! Rock with ANY fraction of a % of Ltd!!!
Not one Ltd surface, subsurface, or core at all.
1 hour for 6 tons of LTD!!!!
BUT TRITIUM IS EVERYWHERE, SERIOUSLY?
Just delete all other hotspots and make the entire galaxy a tritium hotspot.
If I have to use up half my limpets as prospectors, and an hour of my time to scrape up 6 tons of LTD, then it sure as hell is not a LTD HOTSPOT.

Find a system in boom state and become allied with the factions.
You will get soon passengers missions with Business Men or Politicians that require First Class cabin (40 to 50 places) that pay around 10 million. It's a 10 minutes mission, so rinse and repeat you should get 50 million/hour. I suggest a Python or any large ship (Corvette is the most agile to maneuver at the airlock though).
In Sol you can go up to 15 million per mission because there are missions that goes to a starport 300kls from the entry point (8 minutes of supercruise) so they pay more.
Except space taxi is boring, i was speaking of combat... Ive done the taxi bit off and on.

Explorers take note: Since the last update, none of my First Discovery/First Mapping "accolades" have been registered on the System Map(s). I turn my exploradata in to my FC UC, which does recognize the accolades as they are paid out, but the SysMap does not subsequently update the labels on the planets explored. Prior to the last update all worked shipshape and Bristol fashion.

And yes, the FC Livery>Paint Job reverts to Default if you leave the system or relog. Orange is the new blue (or whatever color you chose). Money down the drain.

Some more new bugs created by the latest Update Patch Patch:

1) The hyperspace de-throttle feature of the Supercruise Assist seems to stop working after docking at the carrier. Double-checked that the feature is still ON in the SHIP tab in the right-hand panel and it was. When exiting hyperspace, the blue message flashes up HYPERSPACE DE-THROTTLE ENGAGED, but it doesn't actually engage - the ship starts flying towards the star.
2) I was in a system with a lot of Fleet Carriers (seriously, like over 50) doing Tritium runs. When leaving the station, I selected my own carrier in the left hand nav panel. All fine so far. Then when I jump to Supercruise, the target randomly changes to another carrier. Once I change it back to mine, it's fine again.
3) In another system, when setting course for my carrier, a message popped up saying another carrier (not mine) will be jumping in ten minutes. I hadn't plotted any carrier jumps.
4) Transferring a ship to my carrier generates an "incoming message" audio - but no message appears. When the ship transfer is complete, the message appears but no audio "incoming message" is played.
5) The route doesn't replot once the carrier jumps. E.g. I'm aboard my carrier. I plot a SHIP jump to System A. I then decide to plot a CARRIER jump to system B, which is halfway along the route. Carrier jumps with me aboard. I go into the Galaxy map on my SHIP, but the jump doesn't replot automatically unless I cancel the route and replot. A minor issue but irritating.
6) Sometimes when selecting a target for my carrier jump, the button just greys out - no "no available slots" or any other message; the carrier's not in cooldown and there is sufficient fuel. When exiting and re-entering carrier's galaxy map, it's fine.

I am quite sure there will be more.

I had this happen in supercruise flying past another carrier. Maybe those messages are distance-dependent?

Ii have always dropped in away from the centres of hot-spots and then fly in scanning as I go - should I now be droppping in at he centres?

Hotspots all seem to be a bit weak at the moment, my mining is now very relaxed and I just pick up whatever I get, void opals, LTD and tritium and then just let it pile up in my carrier.
I'm out in the middle of nowhere anyway, doing a lot of exploring and material gathering.

Therefore instead of nerfing why not buff all other roles. Nerfing just increases the grind to make credits, not the fun factor of the game.
Because idea, where you can earn enough money on the most expensive ship in 2-3 hours is just stupid.
Dude, you still can earn more than 200m per hour, I rly don't understand your complains, what do you want? 1bil per hour?
Some people haven't enough time? Their problem, some games requier more time, other less, if you haven't enough time on X game, dont take X game.
Maybe I'm weird, but I will do some stuff because I like it, even shooting to pirates for 4k bounty (and yes, I had this mindway since bought this game, not earn 2 bil from exploration)

I just want to add that I did seriously grind, but I put in a LOT of hours and in the process, taught myself how to fly, fight and play the game. My motivation and fun was to get all the ships I want. I ground out the fed and imp ranks, got the cutter, Corvette and carrier on the same day. Bit it was hard long tedious work that took determination, drive and discipline. It definitely wasn't easy and I would have much preferred to do bounty hunting and so on, now I have my stuff and I can play and enjoy and not be motivated by the need for credits. I'm also a much better pilot now than I would have been without that repetitive grind.
