Fleet Carriers Update patch 1 - Downtime and patch notes

Because they were getting duplicates, so they re-rolled it and now they're getting even more duplicates because something else borked in code :p

Just think, back when I was suffering "ugly" mode on PS4 Slim, everybody told me to buy a PS4 Pro. I'm definitely glad I skipped over that and went to straight to PC, especially now!

The torch in my hand burns brightly....

Reaches for pitchfork

I just hope it doesn’t take 6 months to fix, like it did last time the setting broke....

Please bring back long range smuggling, trading, and passenger transport missions. They were traditionally nice paying and (more importantly) fun missions that have been gone for years now. These missions were all programmed and put in the game and had NPC AI and etc etc, everything you could hope for in working content, and it'd be great to have them back.

While we're at it, please make smuggling missions return to "fail on scan" instead of just earning a fine. Making them less risky made them less fun, and the nerf to pay and removal of long range smuggling missions already pretty much ruined the career... bring the risk back!

Long range smuggling was real fun, and we got a lotta new players after the recent sales and the excitement for Odyssey who could be enjoying that sort of non-violent criminal gameplay (long range smuggling is what personally got me hooked to Elite, for sure, and I know it'd be fun for experienced and n00bs alike). Elite already has all the intertwined mechanics that cool smuggling gameplay needs, and I'd love to see them utilized and used like they were back in the day.

And while I'm here, I'll mention it'd be nice if a small variety of things paid decently instead of only mining be the worthwhile job, but I will absolutely settle for merely having the missions that used to be in the game put back into the game.

Increased the required time you spend away from your kids and responsibilities so you can mine by around 25%

Welp, I'm done with this part-time job, game.
Idiocy of that statement is overwhelming.

Nobody forces you to play and to play in the way you do.
Playing games like Elite is an ongoing activity, not goal based and that means you Play f.ex for an hour or half an hour a day, not until you earn 10 billions.

If you need to earn a lot of credits fast and you need to do it regardless of your home responsibilities, then you should work on your priorities.

you're dreaming... no WAY to make 200m/ hour in combat.. ive been a dedicated combat player, and about 1.5-3 million per hour...
Find a system in boom state and become allied with the factions.
You will get soon passengers missions with Business Men or Politicians that require First Class cabin (40 to 50 places) that pay around 10 million. It's a 10 minutes mission, so rinse and repeat you should get 50 million/hour. I suggest a Python or any large ship (Corvette is the most agile to maneuver at the airlock though).
In Sol you can go up to 15 million per mission because there are missions that goes to a starport 300kls from the entry point (8 minutes of supercruise) so they pay more.

So I guess they aren't fixing the mess this caused to BGS. Oh well on to the next game I guess. too bad Frontier just doesn't care about all the work we've done. I'm certainly not going to keep doing it just to have it happen again in Odyssey because Frontier is such a terribly deleoper.

Paint jobs are now switching to stock one on Carrier after jumping or entering supercruise and back. As well as Carrier Horn and ATC glitch, they are still there.

For someone who started mining after the January update this year, this update isn't bad. And yes, I've collected tons of LTDs, got all the nice ships, some engineered, some not and I'm still fine with it.

This "nerf" how all of you might call it isn't bad. And no, I don't own a Fleet Carrier and I've got 3.9B credits on me (60% because of LTDs) which will continue to rise due to mining LTDs. Nothing is stopping me and I'm perfectly ok with what's going on regarding this situation.

As of right now, I'm mining LTDs in the so called "Borann V2" and the refinery in my mining Python is currently busy being full of unprocessed LTD fragments to the point I have to jettison couple of limpets every now and then. Haven't noticed anything that would ruin my fun.

Here's the screenshot I've taken couple of minutes ago.

You're crying too much over these things to the point when even I, who hates these things happening, have to say you're full of it. I registered some minutes ago just to leave the comment.

Also noticed last night the skybox issue when jumping back from Barnard's Loop back to the bubble - glad that's caught already:)
There’s been a very long-standing bug (happening since day one, I think?) where that happens to all ships and was particularly noticeable the nearer you are to the Galactic Core. I’m hoping this also fixes that, but haven’t the time right now to make a solo trip to Sag A*. Perhaps someone already out there can confirm?

There's a new bug on PS4 after this update: Every time the carrier loads by either jumping to it, jumping with the carrier, reloading etc. the paint job is visually reset to the standard one. The right one is still installed, but invisible until re-applied.
