Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Patch Notes

I'm not arguing with you about how Powerplay should be played. I'm just saying that since you have modes and people can use them, ability to block people without friending them isn't an issue at all.
I have explained in details how this is an issue, and I will repeat it this one last time as not to clutter the thread:

Power A haulers haul merits in open because they want a fair game. Power B, the enemies of Power A, send their PvPers to attack the haulers, Power A send their PvP to do Combat Air Patrol and attack the enemy PvPers, but those PvPers have them blocked without even needing to friend them. This will result in either power A have to decide to just haul in solo or PG (which is disgusting) or have no way to counter enemy PvPers...

Would not that code of honour apply equally to block abuse ?
It does except we have people getting back at us saying "it is in the game so we will use it" not everyone abide by that code which is why Powerplay is dying which for most of us means Elite is dying, and it is.

It's only a problem if you're a griefer, a ganker or some other thoroughly objectionable character. If you're none of those things then this isn't an issue.
Not really, most of our PvPer are not griefers nor grankers, in fact many of them go to Borann to hunt down griefers, now griefers can just block PvPers who can kill them so they can grief players undisturbed...

PvP doesn't mean greifing and ganking, PvPers are people who are willing to put an effort in a game as opposed to just play an easy game

First of all I'm pretty sure this "you need to be friends to block someone" was a bug, because it shouldn't work like that. I'm sure we were able to block people we were not friends with before.
Secondly: You can do Powerplay in any mode, so what's the difference if someone will make himself a PG of sorts by blocking some people in Open, instead of selecting Solo (which is open with everyone blocked) or a PG that he will invite people to?

Whats the point in playing in Open for Powerplay if you are not willing to actually be attacked by another player? If you don't want to be attacked, don't use Open because it makes that mode redundant for others who do want that.

I'm failing to see what's going to stop a PP faction playing entirely in open, blocking all PVPers, so they can just pick off the haulers from a faction that expands by hauling, knowing they'll never face any retribution and can completely kill another factions expansions prospects. Is this update trying to force haulers into solo mode? This aspect of the patch feels like a significant step backwards. I'm sure players from non-hauling PP factions see no issue with this change whatsoever. But.. yay.. fleet carriers.

I'm not talking about that. It's a separate issue. I'm just pointing out that this fix changes nothing in that regard.

Well as others have pointed out you can get the same effect with solo of private group play so not much has changed really.
I'd have also thought that if it is a minority of people not playing by the rules their effect would be minimised by the large number of players who do play by the rules.
I cannot help but agree though that the rotten nature of some folk does take away a lot from what are otherwise great game components and it's a shame FDev have to devote precious time and resources to trying to stop ppl behaving like a*****les

If we consider only a player who does not want to be in a fight with another player or just does not want to play with other players, then Yes, everything is fine for such players there are 2 modes and even blocking players in an open game, but...There are situations in which the attackers themselves use the blocking option to win, what to do in this case?

Seriously?!?!?! This is considered a fix?
If players do not want to interact, they have 2 DAMN modes to do that, Fdev are you seriously supporting this exploit?

Don't be daft. With it taken as a given that FD allow us to "choose who we'll play with" the blacklist is as integral a part of that as the whitelist. Or is it somehow "worse" that as well as being able to choose to play with "nobody", "only these guys" or "everybody" a cmdr can also choose to play with "anyone but you"?

Then miners can block griefers and that's all. They play open but similar to solo :) - no players around.

Of all the feeble excuses not to buy a FC, this is up there with the Best (Or worse) WOW!
As far as I am concerned and I am not alone this voice is sh^t! I cant understand it and it means along with other items like Upkeep being kept and no Bridge view plus some other peevs I have mean I wont waste my game money on this debacle

The difference is that presumably, they're not already friends with, or receiving friend requests from, the hauling factions PVPers. Now they can just load up a list of all known PVP cmdrs from a faction, block the lot, and know they'll never have anything to fear from them, while they head out to kill haulers. Hauling will have to be wing or solo only, while "killing haulers" is met by no such demand. Oh well.

But you never mentioned 'Upkeep, no bridge view plus other peevs' (Your words), merely said the voice and you would not buy it. Now you actually have valid reasons for not getting it which is more understandable, but to not get it just because of the voice is laughable :)
