Anniversary animal going to be announced tomorrow already?? So excited if it is a peccary, didn't actually expect that it will be an anniversary animal (only if it is peccary lol). Peccary is quite high on my list, so happy to see it is about to being added in the game, hopefully.

(Inner me hoping for Visayan Warty Pig which is greatly high on my list, imo this animal has low chance of being added in the game sadly)

Javelina (collared peccary) had a bit of a niche cultural moment on twitter last week when a golfer posted a video of a course “ruined” by javelinas. Conservation/ecology people were making lots of pro-javelina joke content. Not saying that Frontier is playing with that in how they market, necessarily, but it would be a fun touch if it is javelina.

If it’s a wild boar, do people think it will be the species as a whole or specifically the Central European (or another) subspecies?

I’m betting on the Collared Peccary over the Wild Boar or any other pig because the animal in the video had thin, dark-colored legs which is consistent with peccaries.

People are talking about how a peccary would be good as South American rep for the base game, but an even bigger base game benefit of collared peccary would be that amazing mix with bison and pronghorn!

Although it seems likely that it will be a peccary now, I would rather have a Eurasian wild boar. We need a pig that can adapt to cold climates.
