Thank you for all the advice guys. I'm going to try and put it into practice later today when I go looking for materials and unlock Liz Ryder.

Below are some videos of how to use frags correctly, really it comes down to aggressive play and good range control, the frags used in the videos below are legacy frags and cannot be made anymore so the damage you do will be about 50% less as my frags are just over 178% stronger than any other type currently modifiable. my frags are Double shot with a damage secondary that gets me very close to grade 3 OC with the double shot effect.

Of course, with the rate at which frags go through ammo, the high-capacity mod is also useful for those that want somewhat lower DPS and the ability to stay in combat for longer - if you're doing PvE. If you're doing PvP - max damage all the way.

I've loved frag cannons for a very long time - ever since I first got my FAS and put two larges frags on it - but the short range always made them very rarely used for me.

Until recently, that is. Now I have Pacifier Frag Cannons and Shock Cannons, both of which are essentially long-range frags. I adore both weapons and highly recommend them if you enjoy frags.

Another great argument against grandfathered modules. I wish they would've just forced everything to the new standard. But noooo, the screeches of the 1000-rolls-per-module crowd had to be considered, thanks FDev.

Actually the PVPer lot wanted the mods removed... but muh FSD crowd wanted to keep them instead of coming back to the bubble

I think it was a diverse lot in the end that partook in the campaign to leave the modules untouched, but I also do remember that several renowned PvPers spoke out against it, I'll give you that.

Hmm, I've always wondered why my 3.0 frags don't seem to melt shields at at hugging distance like some of these PVP vids. I didn't realise that the legacy mods were so utterly imba.

In saying that I don't really care. Getting killed by an wing of alpha-damage, PVP one-hit-wonders in my horrendously-unfit-for-pvp CZ endurance boat is no skin off my back at 200m cr/day for stacking wing missions. If any of the gankers happen to stick around I'll relog in my cheesy FGS with 7x OC/SS frags, though I've been known to put 3x RC torp launchers on it before.

It feels cheap and dirty but they started it dishonourably so why should I care?

I remember it being a decision largely made by FD with little actual discussion 'with' us on the matter. There was lots of discussion on the forum, but it was never concluded, then the decision was made.

The FSD range crowd had by far the most valid point, but at the end of the day, those that would otherwise be stuck (2.8% of the 2.8%) if this change were made, can open tickets and have FD magic them somewhere else. It's just got to be solved now.

If you bring a FGS you would get owned by my clipper... even with your RC torps.

Haha yea the 2.8% of the community didn't want to lose their FSDs... but also frontier could if they wanted just mod everyone mods to grade 5, they had shown they could alter peoples mods on the fly with the Great Module Purge.

Here is one of my legacy fragment cannons, as you can see its got the same DPS as a OC but with increased damage + the double shot effect + the screening shell reload reduction... I have a few of them too in both gimbal and fixed versions and oh boy are the fixed versions a monster... they sure as hell push the legal limit for what looks legit.

The frags i just put on my challenger — g5 doubleshotted, screening shell — are reminding me i need to practice up a bit. Condas? No problem. Elite FDS with PAs? Almost took me apart...

Well I just logged out from ED, and I was in an anarchy system.

You can guess what I was up to...

Turns out, maybe my skill level isn't 5/100. I was using them alright, and they were fixed!

I've taken the advice of some and put weapons of one type on the same side of the ship, as opposed to a symmetrical placement. Result? That wide convergence on the Cobra is no longer a problem.

That's also how I remember it. There were a few anti-engineer-rework nutcases around, but most people were happy. The discussion about grandfathering never was concluded, but with the exception of the FSD, the general consent was against it. Unfortunately FD still decided to keep grandfathering, to the effects we still see today.
