Frontier: give the FSD to ALL players, regardless of whether they took part or not

The flaw in your logic is you're too narrow minded to realize that a lot of people busted their asses to get in the Top 25% when they could have literal done less than 1/10 of work to get the same reward. I killed over 25 Thargoids to get in the Top 25%, All I needed was just 1 to make the top 75%. Before this event I only killed one, and that one was hard earned. I haul 16K tons - 2/3 straight from the bubble. One, just one full load trip in my Type 9 would have putme into the top 75% for the trade CG. To drop it down to 75% is a complete slap in my face and cheapens the effort I put into these CGs. What you're suggesting is another slap.
The players who made the top 25%, with help from my carrier are happy, and so am I. :)

Now, only 50% of the CG participants are possibly unhappy, instead of 75%.

So, in a previous thread, Frontier gives in after feedback from the community, i.e.

And now in this thread, some contend that because of Frontier's generosity over a poorly sponsored CG, that those who did not participate are also "entitled"?

As well, some here have questioned Frontier's giveaway of soley "exclusive" items as rewards, reiterating those exclusive rewards should also be made available to all.

Frankly, it seems when Frontier does something out of generosity, some in the community push for more. When Frontier offers an exclusive reward for a purchase or participation in an event, some in the community seem offended or deprived. Then relentless threads start over these issues, with all manner of reasons for or against these entitlements or exclusivity.

How petty can you be.

Very rarely, if ever, has anyone in this community, in any thread I have read in six plus years, said "Thank You, Frontier" or "It's Appreciated, Frontier" for anything Frontier has done for the community and not many here have shown any gratitude what-so-ever.

I did not participate in the CG and I don't deserve the item. But that does not mean I am not thankful for Frontier's generous offer had I chose to participate. Frontier's generosity also extends to ARX, which I also appreciate and thank Frontier for.

There will always be those who want something for nothing, those who believe they are entitled, and those who believe they are exclusive.

I'm just not one of them.

So, THANK YOU FRONTIER, for the ARX, the Cobra IV, the Eagle, the FSD, the Black Friday Paintjob, the Azure Paintjob, the Free Horizons, the Free Elite Dangerous with Horizons, and all the other things I cannot remember right now.

Oh, Seven....
Reminds me of a story told by a very very wise man many years ago.

There was this farmer, see. He had a crop to harvest and needed help. So he went to town, found some guys looking for a job and promised to pay them a denarii if they'd come help harvest.
Later he decided he needed more help, so he went to down and offered more guys a denarii.
Near the end of the day, he still needed more help, so went to town and made the same offer to some more guys.

At the end of the day when he's passing out the promised pay, some of the guys complain that they worked longer and so deserved more.

They got paid the amount agreed upon. What is it to them what the farm owner does with his money? If he wishes to be generous to one then so be it.

The CG gave an engineered FSD as a reward?

Is it any different to a regular fully engineered FSD?

If not then no you shouldn't get it if you didn't put the effort in. Grow up and stop whining.

If it is some kind of 'unlocked' module like the corrosion resistant cargo then yes give it to everyone to access just like the did with the cargo racks based on total community CG participation.

It is a 5A with 26.00 t mass, 0.69 MW power draw, 1,785.0T optimized mass, 5.00 T max fuel per jump, 84 integrity, 2s boot time and 32.4/s thermal load.

I'm in space right now so I can't see the % differences. It was a bit improved over my 5a engineered for range, but runs hotter and reboots faster.

It doesn't have a secondary effect.

EDIT: Landed now, I can view the %s. Now has mass manager, too so the numbers aren't quite untainted.

Mass +30.0%
Integrity -35.6%
Power Draw +15.0%
Boot Time -80.0%
Optimised Mass +76.8%
Thermal Load +20.0%

I think the mass manager added something like 1% optimized mass and a bit of integrity loss.

Could you white knight any harder?

Thank you for the Arx? The ability to change the colour of your ship, the hud, etc should be standard issue default gameplay. And it used to be. The fact that they are charging up to $5 to change the colour of your ship is nothing short of highway robbery.

The only thing worse than corporations nickel-and-diming consumers these days is that it’s so normal consumers are thanking them for it.

I’ll just bite my tongue now.

🤮

Are all people who spell color wrong this delusional? :p
Color - preferred in America
Colour - used around the world who speak English outside of America ;)

As someone who owns a limited edition car IRL though, i disprove of this idea to give all players a limited edition FSD.

Clue is in the 'limited edition' part.

There was this farmer...
Your farmer parable is flawed in this case, because FDEV promised more to those that worked the hardest. The farmer didn’t. A better telling would be the farmer offered three Denali to those that began work in the morning, two to those at midday, and one for those he hired in the afternoon. However, he payed everyone three no matter how long they worked because those those that showed up late got the same pay.
Those dudes that showed up early on the promise of more pay have every right to be mad when the complaining freeloaders get the same rewards.

Also, I didn't turn up for work and got paid anyway

I don’t agree that everyone should get one.

I do think everyone should have a chance to get one. Anything that is more than cosmetic should be obtainable in the game on a permanent basis: via a mission, or purchase, or whatever. By all means have limited time events with such rewards but there should also be a permanent way of earning modules that have such a distinct advantage.

You have - inadvertently I'm sure - penalised all those players that played by YOUR rules.

Many of them are now effectively worse off. Specifically:

1. Those that didn't bother to enter the CG as they knew they wouldn't have the time to reach the top 25%.
2. Those that entered but quit before 75% for the same reason.

If you are interested in being perceived to be fair (actually, just being fair!), and if you want to retain confidence, you should hand it out to everyone, and give the top 25% a paintjob or something, so at least their effort is rewarded.

I think expanding it to the top 75% was a good gesture after the FC imbalance was pointed out. I would have been happy with just the top 50% - that wasn't a difficult goal to reach. They are working on the balance it appears.
