Frontier, please change the game rules and make griefing bannable!

Hello Eliteers

I think, Frontier should really consider changing the game rules. Griefing must become illegal and griefers must be banned from the game! Why? Because these players screw up any effort, other people put into the game! Distant Worlds 2 is the best example. I think, this project will fail if Frontier does not intervene! The griefers are ruling the WP2 system and make any effort of any ship impossible!
Is it that what you want Elite to be, Frontier? A game where stupid s screw up any effort, any great project, any community project? Is that your plan for Elite Dangerous? Really? I don`t think so!
Frontier - there is a good reason why griefing is forbidden in ANY other game! There is a good reason why griefers are banned in ANY other game! Because players turn their back on games where they are just griefed all the time!
It would be really really sad if Elite would die just because of that problem! All the effort during the Kickstarter Campaign! All the development efforts! Do you want to throw that away, Frontier?! I can`t believe that!
So PLEASE - BAN those players who don`t do anything else but destroy the experience of all the other players! BAN those players who destroy your game!
I am NOT talking about Pirates or Bounty Hunters - they are not griefers! But they do not kill just for fun, crash charity streams or make a great community project like Distant World 2 impossible.

And to those who say: "Just play Solo!":
OK....whenever I will get robbed or assaulted, I will quit my job and stay at home instead of calling the police. I can just stay at home - then I don`t risk being harmed again! Would you do that? I don`t think so! No - you would call the police to have the assaulter punished.
The same should apply to the game. It can`t be a solution to play Solo! The griefers are the ones who have to face consequences - not the regular players! The griefers are the ones who the game and destroy it - not the regular players! So the griefers should be kicked out of the game!

Who gets to decide what griefing is? To you, something others consider fun/funny might be griefing. You say you're not talking about pirates or bounty hunters, but what if people think those sorts of people are griefing? Where does the line get drawn?

And as far as I can tell, DW2 is doing fine even with griefers in the game.

As far as things go, as long as people aren't breaking the rules laid out by Frontier, or engaging in illegal activities, why ban people for doing something that upset you?

As for your real world analogy, robbery and assault are illegal. Doing things you don't like, mocking you for whatever, or smelling terribly are not illegal, even if you don't like it.

That's easy, Frontier does. And anecdotally, they do ban accounts that engage in whatever *they* consider to be griefing (namely abuse or harassment, as called out in the TOS). As the thread title indicates, the OP is requesting that Frontier update their definition to include actions that the OP doesn't like. Not likely to happen if you ask me, but it's a perfectly valid post for a "suggestions and requests" subforum.

Well, obviously Frontier gets to decide what they want for their game and their forums. And they have a definition for what they consider bannable griefing.

But the OP suggests moving the goalposts for what griefing means.

And sure, if the OP was detailing some bug or secret means that people were using to get away with griefing as defined by the ToS/EULA, sure, this would be a valid post for the subforum.

I don't consider listing what I don't like to be a valid post here, nor do I think the OP's post is appropriate for here. But that's on Frontier to mod it or not. :p
