I doubt they could buy DeLacy, they're probably the single most successful ship manufacturer in Elite due to how many of their ships exist.

In fact, Faulcon DeLacy is so successful they'd already bought Zorgon about a century ago.
Lakon's financial problems being caused by the Chieftain trio, wildly popular and effective ships, is one of the least believable reasons I can think of.
If they had blamed the Asp Scout for existing, the Keelback and it's one trick SLF, the T-7 being .5m too tall or the T-10 for failing at AX combat harder than it's chonky armour rating, I might have believed it.
Maybe even just blaming the Crusader, the worst of them, but all three? Nah, nope, git ata ere.
All you need to do to fix the T10 would be to build it from whatever unobtainium FDeL build the conda out of.
But seriously - I suspect this is ship price rebalancing. Most ships get pricier, AspS gets cheaper (I'm hoping for a rework, but easier just to recost), AspX gets renamed "Nomad", maybe even new ship (Imp Medium?) - but i doubt it.

Yeah, I suspect repricing. Or possibly a CG with ship discounts on offer (might go down well with all the new Epic players).
