I can understand how it happens at a programming level, but not how it gets past initial QC at FD.

They might simply not have experienced it on any of their setups. Not everyone has this bug.

anyone else getting incorrect manifest checksum.

Worked fine for hours after update for a lot of us, so maybe something has changed, what server you linking to.

Cannot launch the game at all, tried validating the files and got:

Incorrect Manifest Checksum....:S

The game was fine yesterday, and now with this update its dead in the water

Had the day off today and was looking forward to spending a few hours in game

Have you tried logging off from the launcher, last time I did that I was expecting to just log in a gain but had to re-authenticate and it worked great after.
