Yes, the game is superb, but it is not a good idea to release a game (or set a release date in the near future) while it still has hundreds of known bugs including several dozen very serious and potentially embarrassing bugs.
This is a lesson most game studios fail to ever learn unfortunately. Game studios are not good product people. The developers are going a good job with what they are given. It's just management/stake holders that are ruining things. The release of the game before the end of the year is no coincidence. I don't know the exact reasoning, but there's money and "business" involved. Just crap games industry politics once again stepping into ruin the day. Isn't this what BD was so upset with before? Doesn't look like he's been able to manage to get away from it even with a Kickstarter backed project.
