I filed a ticket with hadrware survey, and sent in a couple of crash reports. I crash immediately when starting the client.
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.140706-1506)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4930K CPU @ 3.40GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.7GHz
16384MB RAM

Well I'm worried now.... Wait nope, I'm really not! Search for me on facebook you'll find there are a lot of us. lol

[paranoia is for stoners]

Congratulations, you're in the high risk identity theft bracket. It won't happen to me! No, no Not I,
I suppose you think it's security through obscurity, because there are so many others doing it.
:p
[denial is for everyone else]

2.7 million to completely re-paint a python is basically the same thing as paying 95 000$ to completely repaint a 2m$ car. Considering it would cost you about 150 000$ to repaint a 2.6m$ bugatti veyron, I would say that paying 2.7m to repaint a python is perfectly fair.

Except a Bugatti doesn't end up looking like a vehicle out of The Road Warrior after a 100 mile trip. Fly ~150 LY in ED (which is like a drive down the block in a 100,000LY galaxy) and your ship will be at 100% wear and tear.

If it only were a complete repaint. But to have 2.7m for 4% wear and tear? or is the percentage not relevant?

Ok, ok, ok...I have to say I'm overall generally impressed with the changes, fixes and additions. Atleast everything Ive come across so far is a change for the better!

Route planner - Thank you...seriously, thank you :)
Sounds - awesome already, but I do hear some changes/additions/tweaks
Coming out of hypercruise - I kinda liked the two latest iterations already, but this new mechanic do feel like a positive change
Mission summary - very nice!
New background in the main menu - very nice too!

I havent seen the new colour scheme to the Alliance stations, but if anything I would wish that all big factions have their own design to the stations. If nothing else, a varied colour scheme for each would work.

What I dont like:
- Key bindings lost :)
- That little circular busy-cursor in the menus :) If feels out of place, but well...it's just a cursor :)

Bit of a copy-paste from my other post, but if you're being disconnected when attempting to accept a mission would you be able to add the following 3 lines of code to the 'Network' section of your AppConfig.xml file, then grab a netlog for us before making a ticket? You Can find your AppConfig.xml file in the same folder that you have installed the EliteDangerous32.exe to, and the netlogs will be generated in this folder too. The 3 lines you need to add are:

VerboseLogging="1"
ReportSentLetters="1"
ReportReceivedLetters="1"

Doing this should allow us to diagnose and fix this issue much quicker. ;)

Thanks, Ashley

That's plain stupid. It's chipped paint! Anyone with smaller ships see the cost yet?

Since I have nowhere near enough to afford a Python how much is 2.7million to a Python pilot? Chump change-ish? A major expense-ishl? Or "I'm going to skip this poorly implemented game mechanic since the costs are outrageous to insulting levels"-ish?

Actually wear & tear isn't just the look of your ship. It is also the health of the individual modules on your ship. If you don't get them serviced every so often then they can develop issues and faults etc. So repairing the wear and tear isn't just repainting the ship it is servicing the modules and giving them a full health check etc.

I love the "WORKING" graphic in the instal client, however it needs to work harder. OR can I have a button to wind it up with and make it work faster please.

You dont need paint. Stuff wont rust in space :D

This is going to get lost in the noise but I feel the need to post anyway. An unusual number of my posts over the past 48 hours have been quite negative in tone, but I only speak my mind on things that bother me because I love this game and its developers and I want to see it reach its potential.

But this list... wow. It's enough for me to issue a hearty "well done" even before I've seen the actual code running. Scanning through the list of updates I noticed at least half a dozen things that, while relatively minor, have bugged me to the point of near ticketing. The only reason I hadn't ticketed them was because I didn't want to overwhelm the team with silly GUI problems and other trivia at what must be a ridiculously busy time, so to see them listed here as not only acknowledged but fixed is an absolute joy.

I also clocked a fair number of things that I hadn't personally witnessed but which would have bugged me as much as the first few had I seen them, so a pre-emptive "thank you" for getting rid of those too.

Sterling work, guys. I know I've been a bit negative when it comes to the state of recent builds in relation to the launch date, but if you keep pushing out major changes at this rate I may have to eat some humble pie.

Now... I'm off for some food (not humble pie just yet) followed by an Adder hunt. I always had a soft spot for the Adder, although I doubt that Pregg's "wingfolding" system will allow me to land on planets in ED any more than it did in the original Elite. At least not yet... :)

Why did you wipe our controls ,,, that is the worst part of this game is trying to get the controls programmed and working with the joystick ,,,, took me a whole day to get it working and now you wiped it with the Gamma 2.0

okay, THAT is bug.
accepting missions works now after fly to another station.
but! mission objektive vanish from that 'transaction' tab after entering target system

Updating the game.

After skimming through the list, my top 5 favorites are:

  • Tweaked limpet controller ranges and speed
  • In asteroid fields also spawn some pirates and police (as well as miners), composition based on security level of the system
  • Stop AI from starting to charge their hyperdrives while they're mass-locked
  • Secret added
  • Removed all police interdictions on clean vessels

We did not do this intentionally, that would have been very inconsiderate of us. ;)
