LOVE this update!

The transition to/from supercruise is sublime.
The new ship computer dialog is great.
Route planning makes long journeys a dream!

I am having one issue tho (ticket id: 58151) I'm unable to complete my first "Illegal" mission. :(

Anyone else come across this one?

Take a look back a page or two for some network settings to help them track it down

mhh.. looks like i need to wait for Gamma 2.01
a hour ago i could start the game after changing display resolution down and back up.
but now i'm stuck at freezing loading screen (again). no matter what i try.

Love the mission summaries. However, I'm a little confused.

I just delivered some food and got this

Economy Boon ^ (blue)
Economy Bust v (red)
Famine v (red)

The arrows sort of make sense. Famine going down is definitely right (i delivered food), but should it be red? Surely famine going down is a good thing?

Also, what's the significance of Economy Boon and Economy Bust? Seems like when one goes up the other necessarily goes down??

I think it's just a sign of the effect of your trade, no matter how small. I'm guessing you could raise the Economy Bust indicator somehow (not exporting from the station but bringing in loads of imported goods), which could possibly cause unrest, increased need to personal weaponry, body armour, etc... maybe even enough to start a revolution and change the stations Alliance standings.. who knows? It might required a few players and a concerted effort to pull that off :)

OK, I took a mission to resque two canisters in an empty remote system. I was there for an hour or so, saw nothing. Scans saw nothing. Abandoned the mission, skip missions like that that are popping up now at nearly every station. Is it a clue I am missing or are these 1 in a millionth missions?

Also took a mission to get 2t of Bernadite. Finally found two remote systems 'where Bernadite is imported from'. Flew there, nothing. Abandoned mission.

Earlier this evening my space ship exploded on exiting a space station. It happened within a few seconds and there was nothing. Reclaimed my ship from insurance, loading screen hung. Had to kill the process. Starting the game again: no problem.

I feel kinda bad for whomever had to type out all the fixes and tweaks, you can tell by the end that he was going insane. Seems they knocked out almost all of the biggest issues (that I was aware of, at least) and added some more goodies. Great work to the team!

Any chance for city lights on planets by release? Or did I miss that?

Yep. Was hunting rebel transmission in USS's for over an hour, made it back with 8 minutes of mission time left. Not able to get the reward, "FAILED TO COMMUNICATE WITH SERVER". Mission probably timed out by now. Ticket in the writing... Good to know it's not only me.

And now I can't get in the game (START greyed out). But I'm not bitter...

Oh, well.

I found the Adder and Type 7

Found the Adder and type 7 handy enough :) You can see them in my latest videos.
YOUTUBE search IRISHTREKKIE and adder or Larkin type 7 to see.
Loving 2.00 so far. See you in the verse commanders

Wow, that's a huge log this time around. Going to highlight a few that I think stood out.

- Randomise the asteroid composition instead of using the deterministic seed to prevent people quitting and reloading repeatedly after finding a good asteroid to get around the chunk limit

What does this mean, functionally? I'm glad to see the mining trick phased out, it was immersion-breaking. I'm not sure I follow how this is going to change mining though.

- Improve the galaxy map/background. Shader now allows us to fade out the core near the glow preventing the world whiting out, map now looks fluffier and more real. Current BG brightness/look is paintained in the default playspace but will improve further out

No more white noise and flying through milk? Awesome. Not enough time before work to check it out firsthand yet though.

- Retain selected fire group when rebuying ship

This was annoying, glad to see it gone.

- Secret added

OOOoooooo....

- Medium landing pads reset rotation after launch

Nice, I hope this is the last we see of this one.

- The Anaconda now uses the front Cargo doors as the actual cargo scoop

Heh.. I can't wait to see a stream-vid of someone trying to fly a sidewinder into one.

- Malfunctions shouldn't eject mission critical cargo

Oh damn, that would suck.

- Dropped the distance of AI turning up from the capitals to 500LY's from 1000LY's. AI should stop appearing that beyond that distance from the capital systems, when in uninhabited systems

No more NPC encounters of any kind when exploring deep space, then?

- Supermassive black holes should not have infinite density

Heheh.. because if they did, none of us would be here to snark on that anyways.

- If a ship has a bounty with their own faction, attacking them won't make their faction hostile to you

Because nothing says "I'm just doing my job" like attacking a ship with 'wanted' stamped on it, then getting jumped by everything in the vicinity. I've been taking the 'let them shoot me first' approach, but sometimes even that doesn't work.

- Make rank up missions a bit more obvious

Can we also find rewards for raising those ranks abit more obvious, too? I mean, it's nice to know how we can build rank more effectively. But the 'why' would be good as well.

Overall a good day. :) Been hearing alot of reports about keyboard issues though, may just take the easy route and stick with Diablo III or Wing Commander a few days until that gets resolved.

Ah, it's a nice change log, but I've been unfortunate enough to be in the cache of users who crash on startup. Reports submitted so I can only hope tomorrow is more fruitful.

Still, the fact that it's 11.50pm and I have work tomorrow means it's probably a blessing in disguise it didn't work for me. Looking forward to trying the new stuff soon, I'm always keen to listen out for new audio!

Same thing here. I retrieved a black box but couldn't deliver it because of the mission server error. Quit and reloaded and still had the mission and the cargo but it didn't even appear on the bulletin board anymore. Rinsed and repeated with the same result. Abandoned mission and sold cargo to black market.

I am really really gutted. Last update worked great for me had no issues at all.

This update i seem to lose the jobs of the transaction screen once I have flown to said system.

Next i open a ticket click on hardware spec. But this dont work either.

Again gutted cus i had none of these problems before.
