Great job Frontier. I haven't played much lately, mainly due to the stuttering and CTDs. The experience as a whole seems considerably smoother now - was able to complete 4 local trade runs without any major issues. Good job, looks fantastic.
Apart from some connection issues it is nice o have Gamma so early. They really need to get those servers running for official release.
Also encountered a cruel joke in form of my Eagle being on a station which is 40Ly. away from my starting location. Distance not for sidewinders.
Overall great job Frontier, hopefully there won't be any progress wipes from now on.
I am impressed. 3.91 appeared to run smoothly, and now the gamma also appears to be very stable.
++ being inside a station does not "fry" my GPU to 100% anymore (60fps limit)
++ you managed to "hide" the orbital lines behiond the planes so its less confusing to see whether the station is on front or behind the planet
++ you managed to handle the landing gear warnings so they are not reported unneccesary
+ I like the main menu, very nice
-- Still some small "hickups" wnen approaching planets in supercruise mode. (this has been reported so often I wont addd another ticket for this.
Now I'm saving money for a nice ship and then visit SOL!
problem in safe disingage ready in HUI MINES, press button for escape from hyper drive when appaer "safe disingage ready" but game was blocked there, after one minutes game was closed and was open a windows from frontier where it says "was a problem"
It's the smoothest and most stable build so far, for me. Lots of balancing still needed to be done, but they are aware of that, and the game is coming along really nicely. Great work, everyone at Frontier!
After the issues I had with 3.91, I had serious concerns that the gamma release would be a beta 4.
I am astounded, the game is all and more than I expected. The graphics are great and almost silky smooth, the sound is fantastic on my 2.1 system - would love to hear it on 5.1.
Congratulations on a truly incredible game. My son and I watched the premiere event on Twitch and then logged in, got our Cobra and headed to the Founder's World. Jameson Memorial. Very fitting.
Started playing the Gamma after I got home from dinner out. Wow. I was sceptical that the ultra-short .9 beta would have any impact, but the guys at Frontier sure know their stuff and most of the serious issues were actually ironed out. You guys rock, and I have complete confidence that the Gold version will be a complete winner.
I take back my negative comments earlier about the loss of offline mode. The Frontier team deserves to get to define our experience in this amazing universe, and I'm very happy I managed to get in on the ride from Beta level on. This is awesome.
Sweet merciful crap! This gamma is brilliant! Been playing for nearly three hours with no crashes or server problems at all.
Oh man, this really is going to be the game, "THE" game I've been waiting for. Ever since I saw my mate playing Elite on his Commodore 64 back in the 80s I've loved Elite and now, well, this is the icing on the cake!
30 years I have waited and you roll out gamma when I am stuck behind the wheel of a bus In the capitol. well I suppose that after the thrashing my fellow countrymen took today at the hands of the all blacks I needed some good news to come home to. Now there is just the small issue off the divorce that may follow this release due to the other half being upstaged by the galaxy. haha thank you FD and all the staff that have made a 30 year old dream a reality and good luck with the premier 07
