Give us the option to remove mods from suits and weapons.

My suggestion is explained very quickly:
Give us the option to remove or overwrite mods from suits and weapons.

In the game, it is not always clear what a modification exactly does. The only thing that helps is to try it out or to rely on the advice of other players.
You can also buy equipment with modifications already installed, which are not always useful.
In addition, your own playing style or preferences can change over time.

It is insane to upgrade a completely new suit and to provide it with new mods just because a mod on the current suit is no longer useful.

It is already possible to remove / exchange upgrades and / or special effects of our ship modules.
Otherwise, this system would not be conceivable.

Please be more respectful of our playing time and don't make us do it all over again for small changes to our equipment.

I love the game a lot and i do respect the hard work all the woman and man, all the peoples at Frontier, put into the development over all the time.

KUDOS and love to you FDEV !

It´s always easier to criticise someones work instead of doing it better. As much as i laugh about yamiks videos, i do have to say, in the negatives he´s pointing at the main problem. Elite is very special game and a lot of players put thousands and thounsands of hours playtime into it. I do not like the way Yamiks is talking or blaming peoples, but lean back, watch and listen ... This game should give us rewards all the time long, playing it or doing all the stuff it has to offer. It has so much potential and no one who´s playing and loving Elite wants to see how it fails. This hurts me as much as the last Yamiks Video. But please FDEV ... we all know the Engineers-Content got much better over time, it took 3 big changes to make it much better, like it is now.

Why do we can not trade Data with the Bartender ???
Why not making all the mission-givers in the Social-Hubs offering currency-point instead of money, so we can decide which reward we take when the mission is done ?
Why do i feel so much nails in my shoes ... you can do it better, please think about the suggestions all the players give to you, cause of changes are good - mostly !

Best regards, fly safe, stay healthy and keep care ...

I agree. If I pick a helmet then I want to go back to the stock version or remove weapons as desired I don't have this option Currently in Odyssey I have to delete the suit and start over. OK but until can control all my suits and moving around weapons

Give us the option to remove or overwrite mods from suits and weapons. Also i suggest to raise the amount of spawned mats and data by x2 or x3,
like you did with the last changes of the old Engineer-System in the past ...

While an arguement of realism could be made that suits can not be modified once engineered, because cutting material etc etc, ok sure. However what if there was a 'Special Space Tailor' that we could bring additional, but reduced amounts of mats to in order to have engineering removed? That would be nice, yes? There is more than enough useless items and data that could be used as required materials for the process.
You regret one particular suit mod and are able to just have it deleted for a price, freeing up that slot to re-engineer!?

The same can not be said for weapons. Mods should be able to be added or removed at will, by the owner, not requiring an engineer... I mean come on, larger magazine size? sorry bud, once you put this extra capacity clip into your weapon theres no going back to standard size! Silencers and scopes that can never be removed! lol

Hell, even if they do require specialist tools or parts, just... have the same engineers that apply the mods be able to remove them. It'd barely even need any change to the UI. The button for applying the mod in question is still there, just yellow to say the mod has already been applied.

Just make that same button (with a confirmation box, naturally) scrap a mod. It doesn't even matter if you don't get the mats back. The point is that being unable to undo mods and having to grind up a whole-ass new weapon from scratch if you change your mind is an awful design decision that really punishes experimentation.

Punishing experimentation. In a bleedin' sandbox game.

I'm sorry Frontier, but not having the option to (at a bare minimum!) remove upgrades arguably damages gameplay more so than it encourages. I love the addition of Loadouts for suits and weapons (would love one for ships too!) but I don't understand why I am being punished for wanting to experiment with different engineering mods in the same way we experiment with ship loadouts. When modding ships, having the ability to swap modules while being able to sell the back at the same retail price has enabled players to focus on gameplay and experimentation rather than grinding.

We're already having to grind massively to bring a suit or weapon to grade 5, but if I want a slightly differently engineered suit for a specific mission I have to grind to G5 all over again and then buy engineering mods again?! Why?! Why is grinding considered more valuable gameplay than experimentation? It's very likely that most people will not even attempt to go beyond the 3 suits or 1 of each weapon simply because of this ridiculous grind cost and it truly is a shame!

Currency (materials, credits, etc) in ED for many people is a means to an end - it enables players to play the game as they want.

Please allow for engineering mods on Suits and Weapons to be removed / replaced so we can engage in richer gameplay and experiment more rather than grind.
If you really want to be stellar, we should be allowed to craft mods and store them as we do with ship modules. If I grind for a rifle scope, there's no reason why that mod cannot be taken off the weapon and applied elsewhere. Let's be sensible about players time.

But even with the limited choice of modifications and their high cost, it takes a long time to try out different variants of the 3 suits and X weapons.

Having to build a suit or a weapon from scratch over and over again is a real headache.

This is why I refuse to engineer their stupid suits. I aint no developers' chump.
Whatever G3 items I can scrounge from random outposts is more than
enough for me. All I need is two more guns and I'm full G3 done.
