what i said: the message was "a mistake".They should have sent that message first.
the "rectification" is even better!!!! now they've gone full psycho!
this is going to be fun indeed!

So basically, what I just said. Publishers don't want to work with content creators that they consider to be toxic or "off-brand". They should have been honest/transparent with him right from the start though.
Me sowing: Haha yeah!!! Yes!!
Me reaping: Well this ing sucks. What the .
that's a good point but do you think this has worked (is working) as intended? It's perfectly logical decision making and it happens all the time within the industry. Publishers pick and chose which influencers they want to support and drop them pretty quickly if they go toxic or "off-brand". It doesn't matter how many followers they have.
They certainly should have been transparent with him right from the start.that's a good point but do you think this has worked (is working) as intended?![]()
I wonder if the person who replied him initially had the memo about why he wasn't on the list.So basically what, I just said. Publishers don't want to work with content creators that they consider to be toxic or "off-brand". They should have honest with him right from the start though.
Again, I'm left scratching my head wondering what their PR/Comms people are doing. They certainly should have been transparent with him right from the start.
They were trying to be polite. So basically, what I just said. Publishers don't want to work with content creators that they consider to be toxic or "off-brand". They should have been honest/transparent with him right from the start though.
i honestly think that you're missing the point somewhat, auntie ... let me try to make a case.
well, apart from the insult this is how this whole business of attention grabbing works, okay? affirmative and exalted messages from fans aren't any less intellectually flat, and we don't frown upon them. it's exactly the same ecosystem that drives up sales, so nothing new here.
frontier not giving him a key for reasons is actually the same as "they don't want him reviewing it". it is OBVIOUSLY not about the key or it's value. as factabulous just pointed out i would find it hard to believe that yamiks didn't even have preordered already, this is his job. it is about the yamiks not being recognized as the significant part of that ecosystem that he really is.
frontier not recognizing that is totally legitimate, but is their first miscalculation of how these social ecosystems work because in doing so they are alienating a part of their fan base. this is just stupid. he will review exactly the same, and they knew it. denying him the recognition could only backfire.
their second miscalculation is the response to him because it is blatant bullarxe and it was obvious that he could go public with it. i mean, precisely the yamiks! (facepalm)
this is so friken stupid that i can only understand this as a communication problem in frontier, with the person responding the email being oblivious of the criteria and consequences of the selection process.
other than that, liking or not yamiks content is not really relevant.
They didn't have to give yamiks a reason at all. He pushed it, he now has his reason. So basically what, I just said. Publishers don't want to work with content creators that they consider to be toxic or "off-brand". They should have been honest/transparent with him right from the start though.
You reap what you sew. Frontier have standards they expect from officially recognised creators, you're not willing to abide by then so you don't qualify for freebies.
But isn't everyone with an alpha key gonna prescreen it?It reads to me the same way as when a movie releases without prescreening for critics.

With that many subs and Patreons, he can afford the Alpha. He's just going to negative anyway.
Yammiks is a guy who figured out that craptalking a game is a niche where some money can be made. He'll be here for a bit, and at some point he'll move on to another game and craptalk that for a while.
They were trying to be polite.
I suspect that FD are not engaging in teat (it blocks the real word) for tat tactics, I think they’re just a bit prudish, look at the swear filter on this forum (see above). They possibly don’t care for his puerile tone and don’t want to be associated with it. They cant stop him making videos but they don’t have to endorse them by supplying material.
Then it is a bit of a shame that if these were their reasons, they didn’t say so, clearly. I for one would have applauded it. Taking a stand against abuse is fine and noble but to do so under the guise of a polite refusal does not address those issues. It just looks cowardly. Have the courage of your (general) convictions and say, we don’t want to give you a key because you are abusive to people, not, we ran out of made-up keys.
Except all the actual critics get the pre-screening. Yamiks is Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. He'll have to sit in the cinema with the rest of us losers before he gets to call it the worst movie EVER.It reads to me the same way as when a movie releases without prescreening for critics. Doesn’t always mean the movie is bad, but this usually turns out to be the case, so it kinda comes across as a vote of “no confidence” from the creators themselves.
