Horizons Graphic Tweaks, Dreamscape Feeling & alii

Can you provide a picture? :)

Here comes. I am using sharpen filter also but even without it you'll notice the difference easily. Then try to go back to lower res. Then it really strikes you.

For some reason this tweak doesn't work with me. I tried a few times on the Override file, all I ended up with was a blurry galaxy. To fix it I had to remove the file, reverting back to the original values wouldn't work. Only tweaking the original GraphicsConfiguration file works.

Added the dust clouds/galaxy bg tweaks.

You can't change BG resolution from override file. You have to edit original GraphicsConfiguration file. For me HD Galaxy BG is a must have.

Maybe it's not good to alter what ever as the resolution. It should go like 512, 1024, 2048, 4096. So always double the previous number. So ultra players should use always 4096. I have tried 8192 but there was not so big difference anymore. 4096 is the big leap.

Good to know. I went for 4096, and even though my bloom eats up most of it, I can see the change ;)

Also, if you mess up with the Bloom.... :D :D

Does anyone know if there's a graphics tweak that will make the milky way look more white rather than orange? And is there a tweak that makes clouds on planets look less pixelated? Earthlikes look absolutely gorgeous now but the clouds, in places, are quite poor.

I've been setting background galaxy to 4096 for a long time, really does make a difference. If it does prolong time spent in hyper jump between systems then I can't say it's been particularly noticeable.

Thanks for adding my post to the main one! And even more so for formatting it better than I could! (It was my first post).

Just one request, could you change my name to "TheRealPhyzz" from the "TheRealPhizz"? Would be much appreciated. 07

You can change the intensity of the surrounding galaxy dust texture to make it less orange and even make it blue. :)

My galaxy background is set to 4096. If you push this value too hard you will get stability issues. 4096 is fine for me, no big issues yet. That resolution change just makes so big difference I can't go back anymore.

Ah cool. I think my 2gb VRAM might be the issue there then lol. Setting galaxy BG to 4096 causes increased loading times. And tweaking the nebulas causes massive instability issues for me. :)

You really need to get 4gb card. Makes big difference.

Have you tried to set planet texture to 4096 also. I have used that for a very long time and for me clouds are ok, no pixelation problems. Here's a few shots from archives. If these look bad for you then I can't help.

With 4 gb cards you really don't notice the possible lag that 4096 resolution gives.

Hi, could someone please upload a copy/copies of the files already edited? I'm a little confused with the editing of the GraphicsConfigurationOverride.xml file and other stuff :)

This is what i have in my GraphicsConfigurationOverride.xml file:

See i'm not sure where to add all this additional stuff like shown in the first post, i see no reference to Bloom or other such stuff.

@Insomnia - thanks for that link, I'll give it a whirl. I've been wanting to get rid of that ghastly orange ever since I bought the game. If only it looked like it does in Space Engine.

@vermu - I'll try 4096 with planetary textures, see if it does the trick. Those pictures look fine but then most of my clouds look OK too it's just a few spots where there's pixelation.

I have a 4gb card too, only an R9 270X but I knew that extra vram would come in handy. A friend is offering me his old gtx 770 for just £85 which is much more powerful but only has 2 Gb of vram - the extra power would be be great but I'd hate to lose the vram.

Create a duplicate of the original GraphicsConfiguration.xml, rename it ---Override.xml and put it in place of the stock Override. Then change the values. Sorry, it wasn't clearly explained...
The Galaxy background tweak doesn't work with the override, you'll have to tweak the regular file for that. I personally mod the regular (might as well...). If you have troubles with a tweaked Override, just remove it, the launcher will create it again.
