lol - watching you people forum-lawyer this whole thing is more fun than actually reading the news stories.

Hey, Fuzzy, care to explain to the rest of the class how "conspiracy" charges work here in the good ol' U.S. of A?

Anybody care to speculate about the absence of Michael Flynn? I mean that's got to be a good sign? Isn't it?

Difficult to say. I've seen some speculate that he has already offered to give up what he knows in return for immunity later.

Flynn from Seth Abramsons thread earlier. He was, if I recall correctly, the primary target of the Russia investigation when it was first underway when Comey was in charge.

I've also seen someone say that there is already enough to indict both Jared Kushner and Don Trump Jr over that Russia meeting. There could be more juicy indictment's in the next few days or weeks.

I've jiggered my hand, so fighting in Elite is painful. I can still do simple missions, but this is much more fun than hauling biowaste to stations <grin>

Not you, Frank. All you're doing is asking questions.

Sorry about your hand.

The main charge is "conspiracy against the United States", that is legal mumbo jumbo for treason.
The conspiracy part of it also means there will be more charges to follow, otherwise it wouldn't be much of a conspiracy... :D

The problem is that the so called Manafort's conspiracy, was made with Ukrainian officials, why are they still calling them Russians?

Trump is finished. It's over. Were he not so narcissistic I'd expect him to resign today. In fact we now know what last weeks desperate attempt to associate Clinton with this investigation, as well as the Fox News attacks on Clinton, were really all about. As well as increasingly desperate calls to fire Mueller.

This guy, Papadopoulus, flipped a few weeks ago. Read the footnote.

This is history unfolding before us.

Mexican president Peña Nieto was eager to meet Trump either, and Trump was invited and came to Mexico during the election campaign. Were the Mexican conspiring against the US government or the wall thing?

It's recovering nicely. I just realised how bad the reason I strained my thumb sounds when it's written down... so that's why I'm telling you...

I opened too many screwtop bottles of wine too quickly in rapid succession.

Based on what? That the Russians wanted to meet Trump and were in contact with one of his campaign staffers? You're overly optimistic dude..

Wanna bet? You seem to think Trump will be fine (and ian't guilty of anything). I think he's more crooked than Nixon, and about to go down. We'll see who had it right pretty soon, I suspect.

The very thing, that the Russians were trying to set up a meeting with Trump through one of his campaign staffers, is proof enough that Trump did not collude to undermine the American democracy. There was never any 'grand masterplan' by Trump and Putin to take down Hillary.

Wikileaks published the leaked DNC emails in July 2016. While in August the Russians were STILL trying to set up a basic meeting with Trump. lol

"Do you hear that, Misssster Anderssson? It's the sound of ... inevitability."

Well, to be certain it's the sound of conjecture.

But hey, there's always the "conspiracy" charge from the dinner with the Vice President and Attorney General.

We now have someone who set up a back-door channel direct to the Kremlin who has pleaded guilty and did so a few weeks ago. The information Mueller has on this must be immense.

We now have Trumps campaign chairman on a $10 million bail bond accused of conspiracy against the United States, along with a host of other charges. Mueller intelligently charged a lot of money laundering here - this can't be pardoned (as Robin will tell you). The only way Manafort doesn't die in jail is to beat the charge in court (unlikely) or cooperate fully.

We also have the fact that Trump fired Comey specifically because of this investigation (he rather stupidly admitted it on national television), and has exposed himself to obstruction of justice charges. The investigation was obviously warranted, and it obviously went to people close to Trump. We're already at Nixon level.

I'm going to say this once, and I'm going to ask people enjoying the events to bear this in mind when posting. This isn't political. This has nothing to do with left vs right, Republican vs Democrat, socialism vs capitalism etc. So please try to refrain from engaging in political discussions here. There isn't a need.

This is about the complicity of certain people in the US government, going all the way to the top, in a conspiracy to swing an election in their favour using hacking, helped by a foreign agency which is hostile to the overall interests of the United States. It's criminal conspiracy. A big one, a juicy one, but that's all it is.

Kudos!
Serious forum lawyerin' there.

Now Trump realises why George Papadopoulos was saying to him "Could you say that more clearly and concisely Mr President? And try to annunciate into this flower on my lapel." Followed by him saying into his flower "Did that make more sense this time?"

There is a lot of speculation on whether Papadopoulos was wired and sent to discuss things. I don't know though. He had access to everyone prior to Trump taking office, but since I don't know where his access went to, and by the time of his arrest the smarter people involved likely were being far more careful.

Although, again, based on what I've seen very few of them are smart. The details of Papadopoulos trying to delete then rebuild his Facebook page had me in stitches.

And...

How will this play out if Trump is also picking and changing judges currently? Apparently he has done more of that than most Presidents since his inauguration? Also he has a decent slice of the American public fully behind him, and this kind of stuff is not something they care about/believe etc.

So bloody nose time or more serious?
