Help to test this : After a fleet carrier jump, you are left outside of the carrier

Edit : Patch 1.54 did not fix this.

EDIT : ! Issue is confirmed reproducible. Do not run this test. Advisable to disable docking by others for the moment.

--------------

Start ED (yeah, Horizon) on your PS4, keep the game running while testing. We refer to this as the main PS4.

Edit : test done in solo mode.

If you have a 2nd PS4 and another account, use the 2nd PS4 to run ED and park your alt account ship to your carrier (I tested this way). Or you may test with other platform running ED as well.

Without a 2nd PS4, invite a friend over the internet and park his/her ship at your carrier. For easy reference, we still refer to this as the 2nd PS4.

Then jump your carrier on the main PS4. When the jump is completed, see if your current ship is inside the carrier or gets ejected out ?

Warning for 2nd PS4 : If the game is also running, after the jump, the ship on the 2nd PS4 may also be ejected out and risks being blown by the carrier (the ship needs to either dock or boost away immediately). Or , the 2nd PS4 game can be turned off after parking for safety.

On the main PS4, the ship will keep on being ejected out at every jump. A PS4 restart will solve this issue. Or perhaps an exit and restart ED will also do - but I did not try.

Need to know if this can be duplicated. Especially curious as it's common for other players to park at fleet carriers often.

So short version on a FC owned by a PS4 user have another ship docked with that PS4 FC and have booth running the game when the FC jumps...
Then report back if some weird stuff happens... and incase your ship blows up use cheap ship..
OK..

While i don't know anything about this issue, i'm am interest what causes it and if there's a fix...

I play Elite across two PS4s, one in my house and another in my girlfriends and indeed i notice that some things aren't carried over between the two.

For example, if i encounter another player in game, i only see them in my contacts on the system i was playing on at the time.

Similarly if i plot or am in the middle of a jumping route and stop somwhere mid route when i play on the other PS4, i have no route plotted and any systems i type in or visit are only recorded on the system i was playing on.

Everything else seems to carry over 😃🤔🤘 .

It's not too bad, but i generally have to make notes where i'm going.

Interesting bug.
Is it logged in the defect tracker?
Do we know if it repeatable for every jump?
Do we know if it is also present in the other platforms? (within their platforms)
Do we know if it is also present if non home platform jumps (i.e. PC player jumps with PS player onboard?)

It's not reported yet, but just confirmed by @GraphiteGB , will report asap. Other platforms unsure - so, tests from other players with difference platforms would be good, reporting to the tracker their own findings (but risking FC not being able to jump properly if it's not reset).

PS4 FC owner and PC secondary account allready triggered it,,, I can't test the other way around...
the result was PC client crashed on jump. PS4 ship ejected.
Second jump in system failed to animate... but thats old bug..

No thoughts on my post, as i alluded to, i suspect it's at least in part due to certain data not being shared between individual PS4 systems 😃🤔 ..

(Whether it's Sony or Frontier's fault only they know.)

Wondering if this got to do with the back ground update between Horizon and Odyssey.. watched a Youtube somewhere about synching Horizon data to Odyssey.. as this problem only started with the latest PS4 patch.

Oh.. I'm so sorry your FC can't jump due to testing this.. :(

It can jump but it triggered the old bug of not animating the jump.. as it was in system jump from star to planet..

I've already told fdevs about this bug. It happens to me every time but, it corrupts my option settings every time and I have to download my settings from cloud storage after.

Try this if your FC is still ejecting ship after each jump. I land my ship in a station, exit and reboot. Restart. Then the jump is back to normal (probably until the next alt ship landing).
