Yes they did. They may have given more of a payout increase than they meant to. They are or will be looking at it. Very early on in the stream, like the first 5 minutes or so... so yeah, don't wait to cash in your exo biology if you like $$$ and quick rank ups. They might leave it alone, but somehow I doubt itDid they really say that? At work and can't watch just yet
Wow, seriously FDev,Sadly yes. They look into it.

Perhaps they can look into the missing Sirius tech brokers first.Sadly yes. They look into it.

Ah, could be alright for the weekend then.Sadly yes. They look into it.
Yeah they're going to FDEV-Nerf it for sure. Thanks to those who - as usual - like to whine about increases, how it ruins their day, and "could you punish us more FDEV plox - we love pain".
sigh, so the folks who just couldn't bear to let explorers make a decent income from chill gameplay got their way.... ah well, I'll be sure to make a note and complain loudly for outrageous profits needing nerfing immediately when something those guys do gets a massive buff, ie thargoid anti xeno combat, etc, what goes around comes around as they say, lets hope the nerf isn't too bad.....
No sh*t! Please see my original post!I hope these huge payouts will be fixed soon.
When FDev advertised the exobio payouts increment, I thought about x2, or x3 at least.
But not x-million-ish.
I can see the pay being reduced, perhaps 15-20% but I don't see a point to it. Even with the increased payout, I can still make more /hr trading, sure they needed to increase the amount needed to rank, I image it was an oversight, but the pay overall is fine. Why bother mapping a high value planet? It takes a few minutes to fly to it and a couple seconds to fire probes, so, why not?I was originally looking forward to this Exobiology buff, but now, not so keen. I am an explorer, always have been. Slowly building my rank.
I normally scanned around (In the before times) 10-15 million credits worth of Exobiology data a week, receiving double that on return to my FC through first discovery.
I have held on to my recent data, anticipating this payout buff (Currently running with over 50 million Credits worth of first discovered - at the old rates - thanks, as always EDDiscovery).
So, doing the Math, based on the initial post, when I turn that in, it'll equate to over 1.5 Billion Credits. That's ludicrous. Why bother mapping an Earth-like World in a system any more when there's also an average Nitrogen-Based bacteria (Bacteria Informem, really quite common) on a small icy moon worth practically three times as much?
I'm currently around 20% at Elite in Exobiology. I imagine I'll be Elite V pretty sharpish when I cash this lot in.
Good voyages, Commanders!
I'm literally an explorer and think it's too much but it's only too much due to the Rank progression.sigh, so the folks who just couldn't bear to let explorers make a decent income from chill gameplay got their way.... ah well, I'll be sure to make a note and complain loudly for outrageous profits needing nerfing immediately when something those guys do gets a massive buff, ie thargoid anti xeno combat, etc, what goes around comes around as they say, lets hope the nerf isn't too bad.....
Exobiology now earns you more credits than System exploration. You're more likely to come across high paying Biologicals than high paying planets.I can see the pay being reduced, perhaps 15-20% but I don't see a point to it. I see that, but I don't see these things as separate, it's all system exploration, or things that I would do while in a new system. If there are high value planets in a system I'm exploring, I'll scan them. If there are biological signals in the same system, I'll check them out. It all adds to the same pot for me.Exobiology now earns you more credits than System exploration. You're more likely to come across high paying Biologicls than high paying planets.
The patch notes said x2 on normal payouts and x5 on first discoveries, so combining those for an x10 total would have been 3-8 million credits per plant for a first discovery ... still more than an ELW each, and a lot easier to find, though slower to scan when you do. (And yes, mainly this shows how poorly ELW first discoveries pay)Wow, I can't believe they are going back on what they delivered, seriously. Looks like I'll be finishing up Exobiology ASAP. Thanks for the heads up.
It does mean people might bother to scan the tenuous atmosphere ice planets with Bacterium Acies on now though. Although that'll still be 150,000 credits instead of 50,000 (then add the first discovered on if applicable).I see that, but I don't see these things as separate, it's all system exploration, or things that I would do while in a new system. Everyone would be Elite V in Exobiology by now if it had been like this since release. The patch notes said x2 on normal payouts and x5 on first discoveries, so combining those for an x10 total would have been 3-8 million credits per plant for a first discovery ... still more than an ELW each, and a lot easier to find, though slower to scan when you do. Still a lot more than it paid before, and I think if we hadn't just had three days of it paying 6-30 million credits per plant for a first discovery we'd have been very happy with that...
I know. Kind of sad really... Nevertheless, I'm going to scan that terraformable Water World, just for old-times sake.Exobiology now earns you more credits than System exploration. You're more likely to come across high paying Biologicls than high paying planets.
But you can collect planets much quicker than you can collect biologicals.Exobiology now earns you more credits than System exploration. You're more likely to come across high paying Biologicals than high paying planets.
