In these cases, your Commander will be placed into your most recently used ship and, if necessary, position it in orbit around the stellar body it was landed on, or docked on a settlement on.
Does that mean I need to redo my Holo-me every time I switch over to Horizons? When playing Horizons after having played Odyssey, Commanders will receive a default avatar and flight suit.
Yeah i did check steam. I guess it makes sense given they expect it to run with the same spec as stated previously. In the Epic store the Odyssey is flagged as a DLC for Elite Dangerous and so it shares the same system requirements with the Horizons (base) version
In the Steam Store, Odyssey has no other system requirements except... Windows
I suggest you take some screenshots of your HoloMe sliders. Just in case.Hi Bruce, just wondering if you can clarify on this?
So, when players return back to Odyssey - will they still have a default Avatar?
i.e.
1) Log into Horzons and avatar goes default
2) Default Avatar gets default flight suit
3) Log into Odyssey and default avatar gets odyssey suit.
IMO no system requirements is a red flag.Yeah what are the system requirements? Strange to have nothing but the OS mentioned on the steam/frontier pages a day before launch...
They are probably still trying to figure out how the release build performs... expect something between the alpha specs and the horizons specs, more toward the alpha specs.Yeah what are the system requirements? Strange to have nothing but the OS mentioned on the steam/frontier pages a day before launch...
No, only the community splits itself - Odyssey is a purchaseable DLC to anyone owning a PC, currently.Anybody wanting to enjoy the space multiplayer part of the game is shown the door. Instancing is hard enough now and with Odyssey it splits the community even more.
Oh boy.
- Odyssey uses different files to Horizons in %appdatalocal%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options to save configuration options, such as Audio, Graphics and Custom Key Bindings.
That's what a DLC does.Anybody wanting to enjoy the space multiplayer part of the game is shown the door. Instancing is hard enough now and with Odyssey it splits the community even more.
If you want to play with your friends you need to all load the same game client - at least for the next X months until console. No biggie really. If your friends don't have Odyssey then it's not like you'd have the option of doing the new ground onfoot stuff together anyway.Anybody wanting to enjoy the space multiplayer part of the game is shown the door. Instancing is hard enough now and with Odyssey it splits the community even more.
Sorted for an updated Chip
Currently Horizons and the base game use the same client. After the console launch, Odyssey, Horizons, and the base game will use the same client again.I know one Cmdr who has Horizons but plays the base game because his laptop is not big enough or fast enough to run Horizons.
Will the base game still be playable after the launch of Odyssey?
Holo-me in Horizon was always pointless and this announcement changes nothing for Horizons. What a mess. Holo-Me and crime management in particular.

Did you missed that when switching from Odyssey to Horizons Holo-Me will be reset do default one? Not just Odyssey stuff removed but reset to default.Holo-me in Horizon as always pointless and this announcement changes nothing for Horizons.
