How many of you don't play anymore?

I`m trying to give up, then coming back, then give up again. I hope that 1.3 will bring some joy in this game, and I hope will be available sooner then later.

stopped playing months ago... theres simply not enough content to fill my needs... will take a look at 1.3 ofc and will see.... had most enjoying time in premium beta in the bubble limited space... anyway im waiting for the FPS, multicrew and planetside so see you in two years...

PS: still love the game ill just wait a bit longer for it.

(...) even in terms of being the courier of the goods the game is only fun when you dock as that is the only time you are really required to put thought or action in (save for setting throttle to 50% when arrival countdown reaches 0:07). I find the docking part the most fun part of it - whereas in an actual courier game, like Euro Truck Simulator, I enjoy the journey due to the constant need for controlling speed through speed restrictive zones, looking out for traffic, obeying road traffic laws, manual gearing (with gear shift) etc etc and then ending with the attempt to reverse park a trailer ( more difficult than docking, to the point where most people skip it lol). (...)

Another thing about ETS is that you allways check what trailers are available and where they are going. You pick a trailer based on cargo and/or destination. In ETS I never go back the same road with the same cargo. The problem with ED is that there is never anything interesting on the bulletin board, once you have made it past a Cobra, to make you divert from your A-B route.

Anyway, to those who went on a break because you couldn't make money on combat I recommend trying again. When I left somewhere after 1.1 (played on and off since launch) I had spent an equal amount of time bounty hunting and trading and had made 18M by trading and only 6M in bounties. Been at it for less then three weeks now and have increased bounties to 61M and trading to 32M. I have enough spare change now for a maxed out trading Python, witch was a wet dream back when I started, but I see no point in it untill they make trading/hauling more interesting - as it is now it's just a way to burn yourself out.

I read the forums most days, and I look down at my HOTAS but rarely pick it up to play anymore. I was wondering who else is feeling a little let down and sad by what we have so far? I still have high hopes for the game and think that they will make it much better this year.

To all you that are feeling like I do, stay hopeful. There is still time but the clock is ticking

Play? Ha.

Most depressing thread ever.

It seems a big problem for people these days, is imagination. Frontier gave you a sandbox with a few tools and limitations, and all everyone wants is more strictly defined rules, more pretty tools, and more "FUN".... The reality of it is, it's just a box full of sand. Make of it what you will. Use your brain, use the tools they provided you with (with more on the way) and make your own fun. If you CAN'T, this is your own personal problem, NOT FDEV's.

This being said, I am not a white-knight, and personally have my own issues with the game itself, but instead of coming on here and complaining that theres "NOTHING TO DO", as seems to be echoed quite frequently, I just find something else to do, or I stop playing for the day. If you burned yourself out and straight into boredom, again I would say this fault lies with you, not the Devs.

Personally, I have NOT STOPPED playing since release. Took one week off, because of work, and came straight back. I'm also not a grinder, I'll do ANYTHING to keep my life in the stars from feeling like a grind. Seriously, I'm in space, and I can fly around freely, I've been waiting for this lost genre to return to gaming for the last 10 yrs. I'll take my time, thank you... and not pull the stupid grind-thru-to-the-next-biggest-ship-cuz-theres-no-other-progression-in-this-game whine.

Well said. I just play with model ships. I like pretending I'm a princess, hiding from the empire.

I backed in the very beginning.. like.. on the first day.. but have never once been able to play. its been 17 years since i've had a windows box. Lord knows i'll never have the money for a Mac that could run E: D. My family only has linux boxes.

It's nice to be part of the gaming mainstream again.. after a fashion. Dual booting is actually annoying, even for people who do it. So if it wasn't buggy, unreliable WINE, i was probably not playing it. Thank God for Steam. Hell, even Elite popped up on Steam (a wonderful outcome, by every standard), but no Linux version.

this thread -is- depressing. at least some of you could play and even move past it. I can't imagine ever getting tired of it. oh well.

If they don't play anymore why would they waste time reading this forum?

The two aren't the same thing. For example, currently I'm not playing because I have far too much work to be getting on with; but I still give the forums a look and respond to things that I think are either interesting or could lead to additions/changes to the game.

I can think of many reasons people would keep a tab on something they have an interest in without actually taking part in that thing at that time. It would only be odd if they had decided, in complete certainty, that they wouldn't come back again for any reason.

I still on the odd occasion look at the Planetside 2 forums, basically to see if things have progressed in a direction that would be of interest to me (they haven't, and they likely wont, but I can hope).

I had a bit of a break a few weeks ago - hell, I've been playing since Premium Beta - and have come back to the game pleasantly surprised. A lot of effort has gone in to sorting bugs and balancing gameplay. I've played more in the last week than I usually did in any week since launch. My chosen profession of bounty hunting is now rewarding, with a real risk I've fallen foul of a couple of times.

It's such a huge and ambitious project, it was always going to have issues. That the development team have largely ironed them out, and taken feedback from players very seriously, means that they should be highly commended.

Hey! This thread is supposed to be for people don't play anymore (not playing no less).

Come on people. Give those who can't really quite give up on ED (or the forum at least) somewhere to be negative without incessant positive comments. :D

I just moved to a new apartment with no internet connection. Getting it May 8th though. So can't play now.
But I don't feel an 'urge' to play ED. I'll probably pick it up again but I don't feel enthusiastic about it.
It still lacks something, and I'm afraid that the 'something' isn't part of 1.3.

I play the game all the time , when I can ; its my dream game... I mean its a space sim , deep and lets you pretend you really are a space ship pilot.
1.2 added very little for me as I only get to use the wings when my friends are online... not often but I have to say the enemies wings added a lot for me and I believe 1.3 will change the game for many
