How to complete "Decrypting the Guardian Logs" with missing log entries?

Hi,

In the last days I did the second Ram Tah mission with the wonderful help of the cannon site. First I followed this spreadsheet:

Already at my second or third scan, I noticed that I did not always get log entries after successful scans. Thats why I switched following this path from https://canonn.science/codex/decrypting-the-guardian-logs-lore-locations/.

Now I finished the second last site (ela Dark Region EL-Y d55) and should have only 2 scans left but my mission counter in the transactions tab says 25mil. So one scan is missing. I only got log entries for 11 of the 25 scans.

Is there any way to find out which log entries I am missing?

What mode / platform are you doing this on? I've heard other reports that messages go missing, but having done the mission a couple of times last week I didn't miss any, so am wondering why others see such difference. (I was solo / PG on PC.)

To answer your question: unless you kept a note of which scans resulted in CR then you need to rescan all the obelisks you have no messages for until you get paid. The CR are usually more reliable than then messages. Doesn't seem to be enough information logged to the journals to help track it down easily, though you could probably look at the DataScanned / ANCIENTCODEX messages to narrow down to a particular site, though that's a bit technical.

If you didn’t delete the comms messages, you can got back and tot up the numbers so you can see which you’re missing. They’re all numbered N/28. I have a list of where each one can be found which is my own version of IndigoWyrds list. Let me know if you need it and will type up. His version is linked off the cannon site.

Hi, thanks for the answer. I did it on PC/Solo. Unfortunately, since I did not start the cannon suggested path from the beginning, I scanned some
items double. I did write down the money increase for each but the first sites, but Its impossible to say if lower scan success is due to something going wrong, or due to having some item scanned before at another structure. So I guess the only solution would be to start from the beginning, which I'm not goint to do. Strange that only few people seem to have this problem.

The problem is, as you can see from the screenshot, I've only received 11 out of 25 comms messages. I have not deleted anything, just did not get any in more than 50% of the cases.

I tried looking through all journals from this year, but actually there are only 8 entries for "ANCIENTCODEX". ( but 25 mil in mission counter, 11 log entries in messages)

I must admit the log files are also a little bit confusing. I'm also doing the "Decoding the ancient ruins" mission in parallel. There I've found e.g. 9 items for the Biology, but in the log-files I have 40 entries for "ancientbiologicaldata". Wish Frontier would make the log-files a bit more consistent.

If anybody has any more hints, I'm glad for every help I can get. Thanks all.

Are you by any chance doing both Guardian missions at once OP, Mine turned into a real &£$%show when I was doing both in parallel?

Edit: Sorry somehow didn't see your post above when I started typing, derp. I think doing both missions at once just mangles the logs and missions in general, I was several logs missing (in both missions), and then the damnable thing timed out early lol

that might be the reason for the problems, that I'm doing both missions at the same time. Also made a post in the Bug report forum, but now answer there yet.

I'm having a similar issue, when I got to Dark Region EL-Y d55, after scanning the 2 obelisks in the Cannon route, I only had 25 mil and noticed that I was missing codex entry 7/28. I tried rescanning the casket/tablet obelisk multiple times and always got the success messaging, but it never gave me the codex entry or CR. I tried logging out and logging back in, tried finding another system that had that obelisk at a Guardian Structure, and still no luck. Thinking it might be a bug? Will log a bug I guess. Very frustrating to get so close to the end of a long mission like this only to get stuck

Yes I think it is a bug. Now I've noticed I'm also not getting all codex entries for the first Ram Tah "Decoding the Ancient Ruins" mission. Should have 89 from the mision counter but only received 82 codex entries. Seems doing the missions in parallel is really screwing things up as CMDR Ofan pointed out.
