Guide / Tutorial How to dock an Anaconda without risk

I couldn't get used to the cockpit being so high. I got caught in the slot the second time i tried to leave a station, stuck so much i couldn't get out in time and the station blew up my nice new conda. I used to use a DC religiously, but stopped a while ago, so I could just manually dock my ships.

I've had no problems with Asp, T6, T7, T9 Clipper. The conda just feels wrong when going through the slot. I've eventually gotten the hang of it now, but I'd recommend any new pilots use a DC for the first while to see how you have to be so high when gliding through.

Though it may help to get in, one still has to leave through the same slot. Though one has less time to get out than getting in, which can get you killed or fined. I had a Beluga and for what ever reason, I was always issued a dock right in front of the dam portal. One has to make sure to view their helms scanner prior to thrusting up because of other in or out bound ships coming and going. Should you have to wait to long, the tresspass warning comes on. Because of the height and length, it takes a Beluga longer to get in and out. I finanly got tired of it, and swithced back to my python. The conda cost more but one can rush the portal with little or no problem it's considerably less tall and only half as long. OK, it cost more, so what, it's only money, what else ya gonna do with it.

That mouse widget is very useful, but occasionally gets in the way. I wonder if FD can be convinced to make it a key-binding in options?

You are aware that you are replying to a thread which was dead for well over a year?

Doesn't stop it being useful.

Why all of the necro's!?

This is good stuff. I do not own an Andiconda, yet, but one day, when I have earned it, I will. But tagging on this I'm more worried about other station traffic. The lack, unless somehow I've missed it somewhere, adiquite notification of other close by ships. Proximity alerts or such. A simple rear view camera or such. And I di not mean the external camera suite.

Like many small, non game breaking things, in a day when we ride ships into the unknown, we are lacking small tools, I.e. Cameras on the outside of ships to keep track of things around our ships. Yet in 2017 I have a backup camera on my truck.
