How to get your FDL unwanted when you can't fly her

:O

<buys an Imperial cutter, abandons it in the station it was bought from >

okay, so there's that issue handled so I don't go bankrupt multicrew'ing with my mates....
[noob]

That seems like a rather dramatic step, just to avoid the penalties which might be incurred during MC.

Don't forget, a Cutter "only" costs Cr208m.
A fairly "average" Python is going to cost more than that.
For that you work, you'd probably have to pump at least a billion credits into your "sacrificial" ship - just to avoid MC fines/bounties.

Personally, I find this idea of applying fines to your most expensive ship kind of wacky.

You and everyone else not liking do realize why this was done right? I mean it's kind of obvious why such a measure was taken. I'm not saying that the concept isn't a bit strange. But when taken into the context of ED universe and all the pre 3.0 c&p it's quite clear why it's not the last ship you flew and instead your most expensive one.

Big hint. One of the earliest posts in response here is the type of behavior that causes these kind of measures to be taken.

Still kinda wish FD applied "your most expensive ship gets fined" to the habitual offenders you refer to instead of wiping everyones slate clean and hitting us all with this goofery. Only ppl this really kicks in the butt are the poor noobs imo.

Seems like phoning it in to me.

Sounds good, in theory, in a reasonable world.

Unfortunately if they did it would just be "singling out 1 play style" "one group of players" "killing pvp" " cuddling snow flake Care Bears" or whatever your or anyone's favorite saying is.

It's not really something you can do, and if you did that you're still allowing a big potential exploit, or at least a cheaper one since people here are already looking for a way to exploit this mechanic and not pay their bounties.

The concern I had about c&p in the months leading up to it's implementation was that the devs would forget that this was a game we all played for fun and enjoyment, rather than a real life simulator. That's my issue with it now: it really doesn't add anything to the game besides a hassle.

It's almost as if the way multi crew works is a bit stupid, sort of like the new c&p. If something needs to be as long winded as this, then perhaps it needs to be taken back to the drawing board...

I'd have to agree with this ^

I'm in Quince doing some planetary surface scan missions, and these INEVITABLY incur a trespass bounty while scanning the mission objective. So that's like intended game mechanics. So not being able to repair, refuel or rearm, and Quince being 270ly away from "Civilization"... You get the picture.

I have a feeling FD doesn't really want us to play this game anymore.

- nobody forced you to do planetary scan missions in Quince. There are several thousand inhabited systems around the Bubble (just to get this out of the way, now for the constructive part)
- even an imperial backwater (to use expressions that likely won't get censored :p) like Quince has three ports under the control of two different factions. Don't mess up your relation with at least one of them, and you'll always have a safe haven where you can go to for outfit, repair and rearm (strangely, Dahm Exchange under Quince Galactic offers outfit, but not refuel... go figure). If you have a bounty from Quince Creative Holdings (and therefore can't use the services of either space station), drop down onto Dahm Exchange, equip a fuel scoop (taht you have stored somewhere else and shipped out to Quince in advance, just in case) and fly somewhere else.
- there are ships that can do those 270 ly in 5 jumps without even trying, there are ways to do that in one jump with a little bit of finessing. Even my Sidey could do it in 12...15 jumps (20 minutes max - loaded with scoop, SRV, shields and ADS, so fully capable of planetary scan missions).
