Modes How to incentivise Open without buffing its rewards

The thing is if you repeat a lost argument often enough people get sick of hearing it and start to ignore you. The instant that happens you then continually refer back to the one thread nobody bothered to contradict you in as proof that the terrible idea has support and no opposition.

Which is why a lot of us "veterans" from Hotel California persist and stay vigilant.

Many people seem to think Einstein said it but thats not right. It has been said in many ways in many times. Supposedly an editor of a Montana paper got a bug up his bum about it when it was used in an editorial. He could not find any indcation it actually came from Einstein or in fact if Einstein had said it.
He supposedly tracked it down to a mystery novelist who used it in a book in 1983 "Sudden Death".

Any way i have to throw a mug away now dratted inernets.

Keep the mug ^,^

The funny thing is, it has been the same argument for literally decades now.

People slaughter newbies, then make fun of them, saying 'learn to play you noob' (or some variation)
Newbies either quit, or find a way to play that avoids the malicious individuals.
Those who slaughter newbies find themselves alone and call for more people for them to slaughter, either by providing bonuses or the outright closing of other servers.

Again. And again. And again.

Doesn't matter the game, the cycle repeats itself over and over again.

Feels a bit like No Man's Sky, really.

Which is why a lot of us "veterans" from Hotel California persist and stay vigilant.

I just like to watch as the light of hope dies in their eyes...when they realize that the game will only be about the collection of PVE trophies.

Except, copies sold doesn't tell you how many play in what mode... nevermind gameplay styles. Inaccurate as a measure.

How do you know that 90% of those copies sold aren't people playing in Solo for that matter?

TL;DR: *Buzzer sounds* Try again.

BTW Goose, you're getting stingy with the GIFs lately :p

I never said it did. What I did say is that citing mobius numbers like its an active playerbase of 40,000 who are all pve purists, when within that number there are inactive accounts, multiple mode users, multiple account holders
As well as those who simply don't share that view, is as incorrect as arguing that in a playerbase of 2 million plus copies, 40,000 copy holders is a large portion of the community as a whole.

Again... how do you know 90% of those 2 million+ copies aren't Solo players? I've yet to see ANY counter-proposal of numbers anywhere near as accurate.

Hell, create your own "PvP-purist" Private Group if you like... something other than the "oh that can't be right because you're all biased" theory would at least be better than what you have now.

(which is nothing)

And how do you know they are?

If you weren't so blinkered by a weird tribalistic need to argue with anything I have to say, you'd have seen all I was saying is that arguing the otherside is using unverified figures when you are doing the exact same is a silly platform to base your argument on.

Also, stop moving goalposts with what your asking. You asked me to cite where I draw my 'verified game purchase numbers' from, not where I drew active open player numbers from (which you may note, I dont do).

So you have nothing. Got it. Noted as such.

You asked where I drew my figures for 'verified game purchase numbers'. I gave you the answer.

You then changed the request to where I gathered my figures for active open players, even though I hadn't mentioned such a figure.

Not my fault if you cant phrase a question correctly.

Wait wait wait... 3+ years later and ED is STILL not EVE in cockpits?

How's those numbers working out for you? Lol

Hmmmm is it a troll post?
Did I say anything about EvE?

Oh Nvm, it's the guy who says EvE is dying… (as if I care)

I have seen a lot of posts about adding increased rewards to counter the increased risk of playing in Open.

These are usually shouted down by people who feel that this shouldn't be the case or by others who come up with elaborate reasons why it would be exploited. Some even claim they would modify the settings in their router to achieve this.

So giving that it is a given that the general populous feel that an increase in rewards for Open play is a no go, there is a simple answer that so far appears over looked.

Nerf rewards in the other modes!

This way, there would be no exploitable credit mechanics for those playing in open!

Basically you have fixed the game.

Plays who play with a lower risk, get a lower reward.

People who play in the main mode get the standard rewards.

Its a simple solution to an on going problem.

Simple, remove solo, pg, install some decent servers instead of this bargain budget cheapo p2p thing and you'll soon find the game improve mightily. :D
